 In this song first the bride requests her father to arrange boxes, horse etc for departure as she had to go very far to her in laws village.
The father offer blessing the bride for living forever and living with her husband forever. The singers say that now the house is empty without the daughter of bride’s father. There is simile here between king Janak and queen Sunanda and bride’s parents
The singers tate that marrying the daughter means completing a very big responsibility and  is as good as bathing in Badinath and Kedarnath.

Traditional Wedding Farewell Song in Kyrgyz :

            In Kyrgyz, the wedding farewell song  is called ‘koshok aytuu’ which is very special ceremony. The singing of farewell start just before the bride starts leaving the marriage place. In Kyrgyz community, the expert singer’ koshokcu’  sings the wedding songs as farewell song. The song is always in metaphoric style and having mourning tone of singer.
 Here is an example of Kyrgyz wedding farewell folk song :

The English translation of Koshok’ is as under:
The buzzard resides on the branches

There is important of horse in Kyrgyz community in wedding and in wedding songs too.

Dobranots or Ukrainian wedding ‘Good Night song    
                In Ukrainian marriage, the party goes on till morning from evening. At the end there is Good Night song with dance called ‘Dobranots’ to escort the guests.

A Garhwali (Indian) Poem Kathga Khailya Re  Narendra Singh Negi  Against Corruption and Poems against Corruption from over 120 Countries  Part 16

(Abstract: In this write up the author analyze the poem of Narendra Singh Negi and briefs about anti corruption poems or poets wrote poetry of anti corruption subject over 120countries. The author also discusses various vital issues related to corruption.   Corruption at high places has become a cancer worldwide specially in undeveloped and developing countries. The poets are most sensitive intellectuals and they are not silent over the corruption in all agencies.
             One of the famous most Indian singers Narendra Singh Negi wrote a poetry against corruption in Garhwali (Indian) language ‘Kathga Khailya”  . The sensitive poet Negi brought an musical album on this lyric too.
 The poem is as

(The poem is symbolic and humorous.  In Hindi or Indian language, taking bribe is called bribe eating (Ghoos Khana ) and Narendra Singh Negi used the meaning of bribe taking in that sense to make poem humorous and satirical
the literal meaning of poem is
You are eating the commission as goat meat
You are eating the commission as Basmati rice
How much will you eat bribe?
How will you digest the commission?
You only can digest this much huge commission!
The people are dying because of inflation
There was hope from new province Uttarakhand
The government is building 56 dams but there is scarcity of  milk
there is corruption in appointment, transfer.
Officers, politicians all are busy in taking bribe
Bribe takers depositing money in foreign banks
there was huge corruption in commonwealth game too)

                          Subject of  Corruption in Dominican Republic Literature
  Dominican comes at 77 in corruption position in the world.
      The author read a nice poem about hurdles of Dominican Republic on a website Political Poem on Dominican Republic (January 1999) > The poem describes the potentiality of development in the country but then corruption comes in between resources and real progress, better life and development
The Dominican Republic is very nice place
Its people are friendly with a smile on every face …….
Progress and better life was on the way
Not so for corruption was in and honesty was out

                    Corruption in Mexico
    Mexico is just after  Dominican Republic in Corruption position
  Javier Sicilia a Gandhian have been raising his voice against corruption and violence in Mexico. Sicilia is not a politician but a poet and follows the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi , His son was kidnapped and killed by thugs.
 The famous poet and activist take ‘Marches’ and awaken people by various non-violence  methodology set by Gandhi
    Corruption in Egypt or History of Revolution and History of Poets in Egypt
        In a researched article “ The Egyptian Revolution Will Continue until  Victory, Forwarded by Victory”, Elliot Colla writes, “ There is nothing unusual about poetry playing a galvanizing role in revolutionary movement.”
    Elliot briefs about the Egyptian poets who wrote poetries against dictatorship, oppressions and suppressions from the authorities
  Elliot briefs that there have been three major revolutions in Egypt in the modern era. The first revolution took place in 1881 in Egypt against corrupt monarchy , second revolution took place in 1919 which nearly brought down the British rule. Third revolution took place in 1952 which inaugurated 60 years of military dictatorship under Nasser and Mubarak. There have been mini  revolutions in Egypt too. 
  Elliot writes that many of the above revolts have their own poets. ‘qasidas’ of Mohammad Sami were motivating poems in 1881 movement. The colloquial, ‘zazlas’ of Bayaram al Tunsi were the fueling poems for 1919 revolt. The famous poet SalahJahin was the major force for the revolution of 1952 revolution. Abdel Halim Hafez was inspiring poet till 1970. Since 1970, Ahmad Fouad had been the revolutionary poet to write against the oppression of regime.
   Tens of poets contributed in outing the Mubarak regime. the couplets or slogans from songs are always useful to awaken the people.
                          Literature about Corruption in Burkina Faso
             Burkina Faso means the land of honest people but the nation is facing problems of corruption.
      Eenest Harsch detailed about movements against corruption and mal practices in urban cities of Burkina Faso in his brilliant article “ Urban Protest in Burkina Faso”. (The Author, 2009 of Oxford University)  Ernest provide examples of literature as poems, stories and articles against corruption in the country
                    Poems against Corruption in Swaziland
   The siSwati language poet J.P Shongwe  wrote  poems about corruption in the land os swiSwati spoken region.
                     Literature on Corruption in Sri Lanka
   Victor Ivon detailed the emergence of corruption in Sri Lanka in a well researched article ‘Bribery or Corruption and the political System of Sri Lanka’. Ivon alleges that political system of Sri Lanka is based on corruption and bribery.
 Ivon briefs that ruling politicians get government land at very nominal prices. Ruling politicians get bribery ofr commercial licenses to businessmen. Victor Ivon found that the liquor licenses are given at very nominal rates to businessmen but ministers or member of parliament take hafty bribe from businessmen for getting liquor licenses. Victor provides various examples of corrupt methodology of politicians making money.
 Basil Fernando details about corruption in Sri Lanka in his book ‘ Sri Lanka Impunity:Criminal Justice and Human Right”
In a poetry ‘Footprints in the Sand”, Fr Derrik Mendis sj depicts the worsening conditions of Sri Lankans due to corruption at high places.
Politics in Sri Lanka is a dirty game
Sans sense of  honesty, honor or shame 
On election campaign that squander millions
When in power that makes illicit billions……
Full of corruption , nepotism, crime….
Basil Fernando wrote affine symbolic poetry ‘At The Tortoise Friendly Pond’ taking the well known Sri Lankan or Indian sub continents folk characters to attack on corruption in Sri Lanka
                         Literature about Corruption in Kiribati
   Peter Larmour (2006) discussed various factors and reasons for corruption in Kiribati and other countries of pacific islands in his research paper ‘Culture and Corruption in Pacific Islands.” Peter explained corruption from cultural point of views of 12 countries of the said region.
 The research of Peter definitely vouches the saying of Frank Herbert,” Power attracts the corruptible, absolute power attracts the absolute corruptible”.
                          Literature on Corruption in Guatemala
Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism provided various corruption, bribery and crimes related to corruption in their various reports time to time from 2008 to 2011.
  A literature critic, a journalist or interviewer of literature creators, writer Sara Cassidy published a novel ’Slick’ (2009), is about politics and people. The reviewer of the novel Louise Donnelly states,” Slick is about politics and people- not the massive spillage that has decimated the Gulf of Mexico but rather the slow seepage of corruption and environment degradation in Guatemala.”
 Sara’s novel reminds the saying by unknown scholar, ”Corruption is authority plus monopoly minus transparency”.
                              Texts on Corruption in Gambia
The Gambian Literary Icon Surgeon Dr Lenrie Peters (1932 -2011)  used to say regularly in interviews and through his literature , “ Colonialism, westernization and corrupt politicians destroyed the ‘African Soul’
  Dr Lenrie blames most the evil acts in Africa to colonialism and westernization because colonialism and westernization spoiled the honest politicians of Africa. His poem istates that
Wings my ancestors used/to fly from oppression,
Slavery/tincture of skin,
Arid birth and death /hang limp on my shoulders/with guilt of oppression
But the new people do not understand /will not understand Katchikali /and all the institutions crumble/ as the mud hut crumbles/ withers, all is base / seething  self interest and corruption/ and the demon of gain/ in your waters Katchikali
                         Corruption in Djibouti
           Djibouti is a small country with limited natural resources but is very important country in terms of its strategic geography in Africa. Therefore rich countries are trying to have their interest. This desire of rich countries will bring the country on the road of development  but would bring corruption too.
                            Corruption in Bosnia Herzegovina
           Bosnia Herzegovina is also facing the problems of corruption and poetry
                     Poetic expression about corruption in Liberia .
 Professor (Mrs.) Patricia Jabbeh Weslay wrote a couple of poems about corruption. She published four poetry collections till date.

A garhwali (Indian) Poem Kathga Khailya Re  Narendra Singh Negi  Against Corruption and Poems against Corruption from over 120 Countries  Part 18

(Abstract: In this write up the author analyze the poem of Narendra Singh Negi and briefs about anti corruption poems or poets wrote poetry of anti corruption subject over 120countries. The author also discusses various vital issues related to corruption. This is in continuation of the series Kathga Khailyau Re.)

  Corruption at high places has become a cancer worldwide specially in undeveloped and developing countries. The poets are most sensitive intellectuals and they are not silent over the corruption in all agencies.
             One of the famous most Indian singers Narendra Singh Negi wrote a poetry against corruption in Garhwali (Indian) language ‘Kathga Khailya”  . The sensitive poet Negi brought an musical album on this lyric too.

               The tradition for attacking corruption through poems is quite old in Cuba. The famous nineteenth century poet , essayist, freedom struggle symbol Jose Marti criticized corruption, depravity, brutality, and drug trafficking in Spanish rule.
       Cinto Vitier touched the subject of poets wrote about corruption in his book ‘All Things Cuban in Poetry’

A Garhwali (Indian) Poem Kathga Khailya Re  by Narendra Singh Negi  Against Corruption and Poems against Corruption from over 120 Countries  Part 19

(Abstract: In this write up the author analyze the poem of Narendra Singh Negi and briefs about anti corruption poems or poets wrote poetry of anti corruption subject over 120countries. The author also discusses various vital issues related to corruption. This is in continuation of the series Kathga Khailyau Re.)

  Corruption at high places has become a cancer worldwide specially in undeveloped and developing countries. The poets are most sensitive intellectuals and they are not silent over the corruption in all agencies.
             One of the famous most Indian singers Narendra Singh Negi wrote a poetry against corruption in Garhwali (Indian) language ‘Kathga Khailya”  . The sensitive poet Negi brought an musical album on this lyric too.

(The poem is symbolic and humorous.  In Hindi or Indian language, taking bribe is called bribe eating (Ghoos Khana ) and Narendra Singh Negi used the meaning of bribe taking in that sense to make poem humorous and satirical
the literal meaning of poem is
You are eating the commission as goat meat
You are eating the commission as Basmati rice
How much will you eat bribe?
How will you digest the commission?
You only can digest this much huge commission!
The people are dying because of inflation
There was hope from new province Uttarakhand
The government is building 56 dams but there is scarcity of  milk
there is corruption in appointment, transfer.
Officers, politicians all are busy in taking bribe

 James Anderson (1998) prepared a lengthy  report ‘ Corruption in Latvia : Survey Evidence”on corruption in Latvia and he also suggested corrective measures to curb corruption in Latvia.
               Literature on corruption in Turkey
  Turkey has tradition that poets do motivate people. The seventeenth century Sufi poet Niyazi Misri wrote many poems against political corruption which are still relevant in modern contexts
           Literature on corruption in Namibia
 There have been releases of music albums against corruption in Namibia as already cited above.
 Patema Naem Haihambo wrote a stunning and horrwful poem against violence and corruption.

  This author wants to praise the reverent poet of South Africa Kgafila oa Magogodi for writing such a marvelous piece of poetry on the greed of human beings. Magogodi is parallel to great Indian singer and poet Narendra Singh Negi in depicting, expressing the frustration of people through poetry. Great Indian poet Narendra Singh Negi and Great Asouth African poet Kgafila oa Magogodi wrote harsh poems on wrong happenings in the government and society in their respective regions.
 Sitlhamo Motsapi also wrote poems on corruption and other issues with vigor language and local strong phrases.

  Conclusion is that in each country, the  poets wrote about corruption. However, sharpness against corruption depends upon era, class of ruling authorities and places. Today, the poems against corruption in developing countries or poor countries are very sharp and poets took many themes and styles to express their views against corruption.

              Father-Daughter Dialogues in Wedding Songs from Other countries

         The Garhwali (Indian) song is in sad melodious tone and the song make people cry. The first line is figurative one that as people plucks the flowers, flower has to leave stem and same way the daughter has to leave parent’s house. This song is one of the examples of pathos rapture in Garhwali folk songs with different nature.
 There are many father-daughter dance song in English, however, the song  ‘Sing me a Song again , daddy’ sung by Famous Philippine icon Jose Mari Chan and lyric Cherie Gil has same similar emotions as the Garhwali folk wedding song ‘Byoli Bwad’ has . the song is as :
            Sing me a song daddy by Jose Mari Chan and Cherie Gil           

            Daughter says –
              I am asking your blessing
            As I’m about to be wife
        Of a man I know who loves me
         And I am proud to be his bride

                     Chinese way of Bride Leaving House
              In Chinese traditional wedding custom, bride groom follow the custom. The bride groom bow down before elders to show respect. At the departure of the carriage or the bridal sedan chair, the bride’s parents would a bowl of water and a bowl of rice.  Upon leaving, the bride would throw her fan out of window of the carriage or sedan chair that she throws away her bad temper.

                     In old time, there was a custom in Latvian culture that the bride was made to cry before leaving her parent’s house. The singers used to sing related songs about bride leaving father’s house and the loss of flourishing youth. The song also tells that the bride should leave her tears here in parent’s house to avoid crying in her new house.

                       There tens of wedding folk songs sung in Arabic marriages. The following folk song reflects the old culture too
“Al joz wa’anah zawyah wal ‘ielah wa’anah ghaniyah,’
 ’Al jiran wa’anah sa iyah”.
[With the husband I am strong. With family I am I am rich and with neighbors I am generous]

                       Comparative Study of Humorous Garhwali, Irish, English and Arabic Folk Songs

                                Defining Humorous Rapture                                  
                          According to Bharat’s Natryashashtra (a Sanskrit Classic of 500 BC) ,  a drama (visual poetry) is not complete without rapture. During listening or reading a poetry or watching drama, Or the Rapture or ‘Ras’ are produced by a combination of ‘Susceptive sentiments ’, Imitating sentiments’ and ‘Mutable sentiments’.
 There are eight raptures or ‘Ras ‘ in poetic form or and in drama- Love, Humor, Pathos,  Wrath, Chivalry, Fear, Abhorrence and Wonder.
The rapture or ’Ras’ communicates a pleasurable joy with a combination of histrionic representation and permanent sentiment.
  Wikipedia defines humour as “Humour or humor (see  is the tendency of particular cognitive experiences to provoke laughter and provide amusement. The term derives from the humoural medicine  of the ancient Greek, which taught that the balance of fluids in the human body, known as humors (Latin: humor, "body fluid"), control human health and emotion.”.
           Humor is conveyed in poetry or in drama by unusual happenings, uncouth behaviour, comparison of uncouth persons or goods, odd happenings, odd speeches, wearing odd dresses or ornaments.
        Humor rapture creates smile, gentle laughter, laughter, laughter of ridicules, harsh laughter and  or excessive laughter emotions
       Folk songs create all types of rapture depending upon the contents, symbols and images created by phrases. One of the fascinating rapture of folk songs is Humor. There is no language where we don’t find humorous folk verses.
                               Humorous Folk song because of age difference    

                    The folk songs related to age differences create laughter. There are many songs in most the the language wherein an old man desires marrying a cute young girl. The narration creates laughter. Here are three folk poems from Garhwal (india), Arabic region and Irish to compare their content and construction

A white bearded old aged person shows his keen desire to marry a beautiful girl in her teen and the girl replies in songs which is melodious and there is tremendous scope for delightful drama in the song
The girl says that she will not marry the old man who has white beard a bent back, , who ha asthma, who is half blind as his one ey is no where on the head. She bluntly refuse to marry with old man
The stage may be on a courtyard, filed, Bisaun (resting place) or in forest or anywhere. It is not necessary that the performers are male and female. In our student life, the child performer used to wear the beard of Syolu (a fiber of Bheemal/Bhyunl) or Fiber of Bhang (hemp)
The act is very laud and female performer may show arrogance of her beauty, tenderness and teen age; scorning or slandering old aged person, . The old performer may perform by showing old age and can bring pathos too by begging her as wife, and this pathos will be converted into ridicules by uncouth behaviour or strange body movements by old person performer which will bring smile, laughter and excessive laughter.
The folk drama clearly shows the sensitivity, social awareness , of folk song creator who are bent to provide realistic picture with a clear message of social reform

                   There are many similarities in all the three songs
1- Tragedy is hidden in all three folk songs
2-if a young girl marries with old man the young girl has to suffer
3-The old man is shown in odd condition in all three folk songs
4-Humror is clearly visible and laughter depends on the time of dramatization of the song.
5- In Arabic and Garhwali folk songs, there are maximum similarities as there is similar culture from respect point of view before the society. The song does not contain *ual words but the strength of the old man is shown in symbolic phrases in both the languages

                                       Differences between European and Asiatic Humorous Folk Songs  
                Arabic and Garhwali (Indian) folk song has similarities of cultural taboos. However, the Irish folk song has bawdy nature. There is description of meeting for *ual acts. In Arab or Garhwal (India) to talk about *ual act or *ual pleasure openly is not allowed even today’s modern age.  .
 The English, Scot or Irish folk song shows openness in the society while Arabic and Garhwali (Indian) songs do not tell anything aout dissatisfaction or satisfaction of ant party in *ual acts. Conclusively, it could be said that the cultural differences are clear in all folk songs

              Byoli-Byola Grih Pravesh:  Garhwali Wedding Songs of Bride Entering into Groom House

(Abstract: In this write up, the author describes the Garhwali (Indian) custom of bride entering into the groom’s house, narrates a wedding song and also briefs about customs of bride entering in the groom house of China, Irish, Jewish, Turkey and ancient roman civilization)
              When the marriage party taking bride reaches at the village, a few respectable villagers who did not go to marriage party welcome the marriage party at the village gate. After reaching on the country yard (chauk of groom house) , two persons separately take groom and bride at the door step of marriage ceremony room. There, the groom’s mother and other female family members throw rice mixed with turmeric dust and coins circling the hand around heads of bride and groom. There is pooja (rituals) at the door step. Then there is a ritual at the entry gate inside the room. Then bride and groom sit before Pooja Chaukal. There, there are a couples of rituals in Sanskrit and many customs are performed as Knagn todan, etc.
  There is  Mukh Dikhai, Sasbhet, gifting etc in the marriage pooja room. There is enthusiasm in the atmosphere as there are funs; funny talks etc in the room. Bhabhi would be teasing groom and many women would be teasing bride too.
 When there are performances of various rituals and customs, the female singers inside the room and professional female das singer outside the room sing the ‘Welcoming Bride  Songs or Byoli Byola Grih Pravesh. The following wedding song of welcoming bride song is a symbolic song. In thi osng the bride is Sita and groom is Ram , groom’s mother is equal to Kaushyalya….:

Sita is the sign of never ending store
Wherever  Sita would be there would be bright light (Good Luck)
Mother and other female members:
Be your companionship for forever!
Be healthy for forever as evergreen Doob grass and be famous and prosperous! As Cham tree.
                       A significant custom on next day of Garhwali Marriage      
               Most of the Garhwali wedding customs and rituals of Garhwal are as per Hindu rules. However, there is a regional touch in the next day custom. The young married and unmarried females take the bride to source of water for fetching the water. The Pundit is does perform a very short ritual there.
 
                          Chinese wedding Custom of Bride’s Entry into Groom’s House:
       The groom and bride will enter the groom’s home under the elder brother’s pant hung across the main door. There would be tea party there.
               Before bride entering the groom’s house, the family members and friends hide somewhere to avoid the clashes of luck. When the bride reached into bridal room the relatives, family members and friends will return to the family hall.  In old days, there would be religious ceremony in the bride room and bride would not leave the room before next morning.
                        Arrival of  Bride to groom home in Turkey
              Bride does not move away from carriage or car till the groom’s home comes.  Before bride’s entry into home, groom sprinkles coins, nuts etc. The mother breaks the pot of coins. The bride is stepped on  the sheep fur. The bride rubs the oil on her hands. Then the bride steps active the iron basin.
    The bride sits on a sitting base and her face would be towards Mecca male child is given on her lap. The bride offers candy etc to who are there and come to see her.
                               Jewish Wedding Custom after marriage:
              Before the groom and bride enter into private room, the family places a silver spoon on the doorstep. The groom steps over it and then bride enters after groom.
               The Jewish newlywed couple does not go for honeymoon but stay at home for seven days. The relatives and friends invite the couple for feast to honor them.
                                   Bride Entering Groom’s Home in Irish wedding Custom:
           In Irish custom, the groom carries bride over the threshold when newlywed couple enters into groom hose first time. 

                                 Arrival of bride into new home in Ancients Roman Culture         
            The bride once more recited the permission chants in front of door. The groom takes bride on threshold.  In the room, the bride lit the firewood of fireplace with ‘Marriage Tourch’.

              Characteristics and Uniqueness of Garhwali (Indian) Lullabies

 The Oxford Dictionary of Nursery Rhymes defines Lullaby that  a Lullaby is a comforting and relaxing song or poetry , usually sung by elders before the children go to the sleep. The main purpose of a Lullaby is to speed up the process of child sleep. Lullabies are found in evy culture, in every civilization and found in in every era of human culture.
The characteristics of Garhwali Lullabies are
1- They are les in numbers as compared to other folk songs as the lullabies are very personal and every person  creates lullaby sings at the time of need and forgets later on what she or he created . or it may be said that Garhwali lullabies are mostly personal and very few songs are sung commonly all over Garhwal by all Garhwalis .
2- Since, the child does not understand much of the language or wordings of poem , Garhwali (Indian) lullabies are  simple and with less decoration. 
3- The lullaby singer pays more attention on rhythm than the wording. It is rhythm that makes soothing effect than the wordings.
4- The singer sings in very low voice  that only the singer and child can enjoy the song . 
5-If the lullaby singer crates her /his own lullaby; the process of creating is based on creating Bajuband poetry. That is the first stanza does not have any relation with next stanza but the last alphabet of last word of first stanza should be similar to last alphabet of word of second stanza. Though, the singer may not follow this fixed rule of Bajuband poetry as the intention of lullaby singer is to create soothing rhythm than creating poetry.
6-The subject of a lullaby may very as per the capability of singer, mood of singer, and the age of child. For example if the singer is singing lullaby at the time of raining outside, the singer may create lullaby poem related to rain. Usually, if the child’s age is from one to three years, the wordings may not have any meaning. However, for older children, the lullaby singer takes care that poetry has some meaning. In all the cases, words are very simple.
 If the child is well grown and understands the language, the lullaby singer would try to sing the song which is also a learning lesson to the child.
7- Mostly in night, the old female would sing the song which has some relation with protecting child from demon.
8- Many times, the lullaby singer does not utter any word but just sing AAAAAAaaaaaaAa….
9-While the lullaby singer  sings lullaby, the singer also try to sooth the child by action as gentle slap on the back of child, rubbing the head of child etc.
10- From rapture point of view, the love, dream, fear, pride, playfulness, bravery and  are main emotion in Garhwali lullabies. A few points also found in Greek lullabies.
 There are a few Garhwali lullaby songs sung in each regions of Garhwal and in every home as a ninda ja sunda, ghughoti Basoti etc 
11-Usually, the subject of Garhwali lullaby does not express feeling directly to the child as also found in Vietnamese culture. 
12-In lullaby song, there are no or least dialogue between lullaby singer and the child.
