At the time of Harela there is a tradition of making clay idols (Dikaras) The Shaukas use their own and Tibetan knitting art form to decorate mattresses known as Dans. In these woollen goods we find the mixed influence of the Kumaoni and Tibetan styles. Kumaon also has a distinctive style of making different baskets (Doka.Dala, Tokri), wooden casks (Theki,Harpia, Naliya) for keeping curd, butter and ghee, mattresses (mosta) and ropes etc. The art of hilljatra mukhotas (masks) is also worth mentioning.

टनकपुर (चंपावत): हरेला क्लब के तत्वावधान में उत्तराखण्ड की संस्कृति के प्रचार व प्रसार के लिए हरेला पर्व के अवसर पर संयुक्त चिकित्सालय परिसर में पौधरोपण किया जायेगा।

हरेला क्लब के सचिव दीनदयाल धामी ने बताया कि 16 जुलाई को हरेला पर्व के अवसर पर संयुक्त चिकित्सालय परिसर में पौधरोपण किया जायेगा। इसके बाद उत्सव गार्डन में क्लब की नई कार्यकारिणी का शपथ ग्रहण व परिचय समारोह आयोजित किया जायेगा। इस कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि उपजिलाधिकारी जीवन सिंह नगन्याल होंगे। श्री धामी ने इस कार्यक्रम में क्षेत्र के लोगों से बढ़-चढ़ कर भाग लेने का आह्वान किया । उन्होंने कहा कि क्लब का मुख्य उद्देश्य शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य , खेल, महिलाओं के उत्थान के साथ वृक्षारोपण, विकलांग व पीड़ित परिवारों को सहयोग करना है।
