TG Leisure and Resorts, owner of the Tivoli hotel brand, plans to become a 1000 room hotel company by the end of 2010. The hospitality company will add rooms through different properties, which are in the pipeline. Chosen destinations include New Delhi, Dehradun, Manesar and Jaipur.
Apart from their existing property at Chhatarpur, New Delhi, the group will come up with a 35 room boutique hotel at a prime location in GT Road, in the northern district of Delhi.
According to Puneet Gupta, Managing Director, Tivoli Garden Resort Hotel, the hotel's trial run has already begun.
The company is also awaiting plan approval for a 150 room hotel in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It is a service apartment model with conferencing facilities. "The property is a green, open property with an IT Park in the vicinity. Construction will take almost two years after obtaining the plan sanctions," informs Gupta.
Another big project is a 350 room property at Manesar, Haryana. The property will have a conference hall which holds 3,000 people. "Essentially, the hotel will be a business property to tap into the growing demand for such hotels in the area. This is due to Fortune 500 companies setting up shop there," adds Gupta.
The company has also acquired a four acre property on the Jaipur-Ajmer Expressway. It plans to construct a 350 room hotel on the land.
Adding to the chain's room inventory is a 50 room property in a 1,000 sq yard area at Lajpat Nagar, on Ring Road, New Delhi. "We look forward to finishing construction of all the properties by 2010. This is in order to avail of the tax holiday announced by the government in the last budget," says Gupta.
The real estate division of the company is also developing its first real estate property at Dharuhera, close to New Delhi. The eight acre property will have 536 holiday condominium units under the Club Tivoli brand. The condominiums have the minimum gestation period. The group expects to pay the unit owners back within 11 months.
The company is looking to take these models into tier II cities, specifically Goa and Himachal Pradesh. It plans to build upscale condos and villas at these locations.
