Dear Mehta ji,
In most of the colleges (MBA) 1st year is the general course and 2nd year is the specialization (marketing , finance, HR, strategy etc.). So student has the option to understand the basic of these fields.
Each specialization (marketing, finance etc) has own advantages but most important thing is the interest of the student.
Marketing is for the students who are good in handling, communicating and convening people. Marketing people can join any company as every company need marketing people.
Finance is for the people who are good in mathematics as most of the finance is based on statistics. Job opportunities are mostly in financial domain (bank, insurance, financial companies). more and more study is needed in the field.
HR :  is for the people who are very good in judging people and assessing the ability as their role is to motivate the people of company for better output.

My advice is first the student should join the course and he should consult with his/her faculties about his/her interest and placement scenario in his/her campus ( in some campus more finance and in some more marketing company visit) then only should choose the specialization that fit into his long term career plan.

thanks
- Dinesh Singh

दिनेश जी का संक्षिप्त परिचय
=====================

Dear all,

I have done Post graduation in Mathematics from Rajasthan University, was the student of M.Phil. (Mathematics) but left that and joined M.Tech. (Computer Science) in JNU, New Delhi. I have also done Post graduation in Banking & Finance from NIBM, Pune.  Beside these I have also passed DOEACC ‘A’ Level papers and completed B.Tech. (Computer Science) from AMIE, India.

I have started teaching career as part-time tutor of different classes (9th  to 12th, B.Sc. and B.Tech.). Later as I joined JNU, Options increased and I started teaching as Part-time faculty for different exams (GATE, NET, Bank PO’s). I was also associated as part time faculty with different Institutes (Career Launcher (CAT, LAW, BBA etc.), Jamboree and The Princeton Review (GRE, GMAT, SAT)). After Completing M.Tech., I joined Siemens Information Systems Ltd., Gurgaon as Systems Engineer. Again my hunger for knowledge in different fields forced me to join Post Graduation in Banking & Finance (NIBM, Pune). After completing PG in Finance, I joined Career Launcher as Quant and LRDI Faculty, worked for couple of months. Meanwhile I got an offer from Online GMAT Test Preparation Company (MBAChase) and worked with them as Associate Director Academics. Working with different education institutes gave me courage to fulfill my dream to own an Educational institute, and with one of my friend I started an Institute for Study Abroad Examination (GRE, GMAT, SAT & IELTS-TOEFL) with the Name “Apotheosis Education” in Gurgaon. (www.apotheosisindia.com).

www.merapahad.com  has given me the opportunity to help in career guidance for the students of different streams as I am associated in the field of education for couple of years. I would try to satisfy queries related to MBA (India or Abroad), other Graduate or Post graduate exams and would provide the information related to these programs.

Please send me the query under this thread. For this, you will have to create an ID on www.merapahad.com and post your query accordingly.

Regards,

Dinesh Singh Gaira

Dear Satyadev ji,
sorry for delayed reply as I see the portal less frequently.
I am not clear about the question " you are not aware of "affication" or  affiliation " of universities ."

About the affiliation of the institute : there are some institutes govern by govt. which helps the working people to get the diploma or degree which are equivalent to regular degree (Like AMIE http://www.ieindia.info/ , IETE http://www.iete.org/ ). Institution of civil Engineers is one of these institutes.  so there is no doubt about their affiliation as these diploma / degree are recognized by all institutes and companies in India.
