My great great grand fathers used to be in Almora ... then the family moved to the plains. No present ties exist, but I love the state and want to buy about more than 1.25 naali of land and settle in Uttarakhand.
There is no place for me better than the upper himalayas ... is a domicile certificate needed to purchase the land measuring over 1.25 naali? Please note the following questions:

1. Can I still buy the land, without the domicile certificate?

2. Is it easy to acquire the domicile certificate without roots?

3. If I buy land without the domicile, can there be issues later on over the sale...

4. HC quashed the GO recently about not allowing "outsiders" to buy land, does that still stand ... so outsiders should be able to buy 12.5 acres of farming land...

please help.

Thanks.

hello sir,

Welcome to merapahadforum.com.

There was a land acquisition law when ND tiwari was CM of uttarakhand. This is still being followed. If you have paternal relation with Uttarakhand, you can purchase land in uttarakhand.
