This Question Is On Behalf of My Friend.

Hi

I am doing MSC Chemistry 2nd Year with Specialisation in Organic Chemistry.
Please tell me what are future scope for this. I dont wanna go in the field of teaching. I want to go in field of researching. Can you tell me how i apply for that.
I have heard about UGC Net Exam. Will that help me in researching?

Also in future, I want to do PHD in Organic Chemistry. Can you tell me what is the procedure for Phd and how can we apply for that.

Great Let me start with the first question,
Jahan tak BSc ka sawal hai abhi bhi isey technology se thora alag rakha jata hai,,,(although the subject you choosing/studying may contain the name Technology Viz; biotechnology, bio-engineering, information technology etc), mere kahane ka matlab hai BSc ko pure science ki ksreni main hi rakha jata hai,,,lekin agar pure science ko advance level (MS, PhD) tak pada jaye to wohi applied banke samne aati hai....kisi bhi technology ka foundation fundamental science hi hoti hai....to agar broader way main dekha jaye to sabhi subjects ka apne level pe ek achcha vawishya hota hai,,,dusra ispe bhi depend karta hai ki aapka aim aage kya hai...kya aap just BSc ke immediate baad job ki baat kar rahe hain to bahut saare subjects hain jinmain different universities BSc karati hain ,,,jaise,,Mathematical Science,,Anthropology,,,Bio-Chemistry,,,Biomedical Sciences,,,Botany,,Chemistry,,Computer Science,,,Electronics,,Geology
Home Science,,Information Technology,,,Mathematics,,Microbiology,,Nursing,,Occupational Therapy,,,Physical Therapy,,Physics,,Physiotherapy,,,Polymer Science,,Prosthetic and Orthrotics,,,Statistics,,,Zoology,,Agro-Chemical and Pest Control,,,Analytical Methods in Chem & Bio-Chem,,Applied Life Sciences (Sericulture),,,Applied Physical Sciences (Computer Science),,,Applied Physical Sciences (Electronics),,,,Applied Physical Sciences (Environmental Science),,,Applied Physical Sciences (Industrial Chemistry),,Life Sciences
Physical Sciences,,Programme Physical Sciences,
so agar just BSc ke baad job ki planning ho to i would prefer to go for applied sciences ,,jaise ki maine list main mention kiye hain...however agar aapko more options open rakhne hain ,,jisse ki BSC ke baad decide kiya jaa sake ki kis field main jana hai to I would suggest one go for dynamic subjects like Physics,,chemistry...Maths...Computer Science etc.

Ab aapke agle question pe aata hu ki kya IT, ya Bio-chemistry jaise subject PCM ya ZBC se behtar hain....waise to comparison difficult hai...still kewal BSC in subjects main karne matr se koi big achievement mile ye kahna ekdam jaldbaji hogi,,,lekin jaisa ki maine kaha PCM se bahut saare options open hote hain...per ZBC ya fir in technology courses se limited option available hain...so agar aap perfect hain kis bhi ek subject main to pakka se safalta hai .... biochemistry ya biotechnology jaise subjects main Maters to kam se kam hona hi behatar hai.....baaki plz aap muzhey batayein ki kya main sahi se reply de paya hu aapke questions ka...

Now coming to the second query:-
Thers is a huge ground waiting for you to play around,,,MSc chemistry has got lots of areas to trust and survive on,,,as you are more interested in research, so let me further bifurcates it  into two broader devisions, (1) academic and (2) industrial ,,,in the former one you would have to teach simultaneously to the research,,,,however in later one the major emphasis would be on hard core applied research only,,,when you have chemistry background I can't really think of any industry where the work is up without a chemist...but its not way ahead to think of what you should more be involved in ,,,going into the hardcore research PhD is mandatory indeed..so you must hunt for a better place to enroll with,,,I can suggest you a few places,,, IISc Bangalore, NCL Pune, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Mumbai, Delhi University, JNU Delhi, University of Hyderabad, Mumbai University etc.
Now coming to your next query about NET, its precisely known as CSIR-UGC JRF-NET exam,,,,undoubtedly it helps a lot,,,,i would rather say it could be considered as a mandatory option for one wanna dedicate him/her-self in hardcore research,,,specially from top universities or institute,,,,it not only makes you confident and a motivated candidate while attending the interviews but also serves monetarily (Scholarship is around Rs12000/- per month in addition to Rs50000 per annum contingency grant).
Next on how to apply for PhD:- you can enroll in any university for this program, however if you want to get the scholarship i would suggest you to write CSIR-JRF or GATE exam, once you crack any of these, all options are wide open,,,infact the IISc or IITs would be more keen to have you in.
CSIR you can write twice a year and GATE only once....if you want syllabus and previous year papers please mail me at shailupreti@gmail.com
and remember UGC-CSIR JRF NET exam doesn't mean for teaching exclusively, rather mandatory for the research....
any way hurry hurry spoils the curry,,,,,so just think over it and let me know how can i help you.
All the best
