पांडव लीला देखने उमड़ रहे श्रद्धालु
तिलवाड़ा। गांवाें में इन दिनाें पांडव नृत्य की धूम है। पांडव नृत्य को देखने के लिए बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालु पहुंच रहे हैं। प्रवासी भी धार्मिक आयोजन में शामिल होने गांव पहुंचे हैं। तिलवाड़ा के समीप गीड़ गांव में नौ वर्षों बाद पांडव लीला को लेकर ग्रामीणाें में बेहद उत्साहहै। पांडव नृत्य के तहत 22 दिसंबर को चक्रव्यूह का मंचन किया जाएगा।
एक सप्ताह से चल रही पांडव लीला में गीड़ सहित आस-पास गांवाें व तिलवाड़ा के लोग हर रोज बड़ी संख्या में पहुंच रहे हैं। पांडव लीला आयोजन समिति के अध्यक्ष मदन सिंह असवाल और ग्राम प्रधान रेखा कंडारी ने बताया कि पांडव लीला के तहत 22 दिसंबर को चक्रव्यूह का मंचन किया जाएगा। ग्राम सभा क्यूंजा में 27 दिसंबर को चक्रव्यूह का मंचन होगा।

   Payali :  A Garhwali Folk Song in Pandav Nrity Geet ( Himalayan Traditional Dance-Song, Folk Dance-Songs of Uttarakhand, Garhwali Folk Dance and Folk Songs)                              Bhishm Kukreti      Pandav Nrity-Geet/Pandaun Dance-Song is very popular dance-song sequence for all Garhwalis and Kumauni. In Pandau nrity-geet , the story narrators (aujees) sing the stories of Pandavas of Mahabharata and dancers (Pashwa) dance on the music and song.    The main musicians and singers of Pnadau/Pandav nrity-geet , Pandoli nach-gan/Pandav Dance-Song are Aujees who play Dhol and Damau (drums) and Aujee sing song for Pandav nrity too.  When there is dance-song going on , in between the dancers take rest for the time being. At the such interval, a Pandouli (who dance or is part) comes to the Das/Aujees and request for a new Pandav story or new music of Pandav Nrity-Geet.  The request maker keeps one hand on his ear and by one hand the request maker does performance by indicating the hands to Aujees and sing the following type of song.                          Beend orJag Jagar  : An Initiating a Garhwali Folk Song for  Pandav Dance

             Pandau dance is a community folk dance of Garhwal and Kumaun. The music and songs are performed by professional and traditional class of Kumaun or Garhwal and the people dance on the Pandau music.
     In Pandau dance, the Das/Aujess narrate the stories of Mahabharata. However, before the stories and dances are started Aides sing an initiating song called ‘Beend’ or jag jagar. In this ‘Beend ‘song, aujees worship various deities of Garhwal and in Kumaun they remember the deities of Kumaun region.
   Apart from deities the narrator remembers all Pandavas –Kunti, Yudhisthar, Bhim, Arjun, Sahdev, Nakul , Abhimanyu too.
  There is specific music tone for ‘Beend’ or Jag’ song

Arjun Baja Jagar-Nach”: A Garhwali folk song (jagar) for Pandau Jagar-Dance

 There is popular or could be said a compulsive dance-song related to Arjun a Pandava.  The song is with the raptures of chivalry, rage, love and pathos.

देखी तौं तब हे अर्जुन
जनीति मा विलाप हे अर्जुन

           The story starts when Abhimany was killed by seven army generals of Kaurava together against the rules of battle for Kurukshetra. Jaydratha  was the brother in law of Duryodhan the crowned pricnce of Kuruvansh/ Hastinapur . Jaydrath kicked the dead body of Abhimany the son of Arjun .
    Now,  Arjun  takes a vow that he will kill Jaydrath before the sun set. Jayadrath hides in his house.
                      Krishna spread his Maya (magic) and the sun sets. Arjun becomes ready to die on a Chita (pyre0. Hearing the news that Arjun is ready to do Armdah (die by fire him), Jaydrath comes out from his hide outs and shows his face at the scene. As soon as Jaydrath appears in the battle ground where, Arjun was ready for Atmdah the sun starts shining and Arjun kills Jaydrath by his arrow.

Abhimanyu –Bjaj-Nrity-geet : a story of Pandau jagar about the Bravery of Abhimanyu

     Abhimanyu ‘s story brings a bravery and pathos raptures among the audience when Aujees sing the story of Abhimanyu’s entry into Chakravyuh  a circle strategy coined by Drona Chary the Army chief of Kaurava.
 Except Arjun, no other Pandavas knew about fighting against Chakravyuh. Arjun was away in another battle. Abhimanyu heard the story from his father Arjun while Abhimanyu was into womb, when Arjun was telling about breaking chakravyuh to his wife Subhadra the mother of Abhimanyu. Kauravas killed Abhimanyu by wrong means against rules set before battle of Kurukhsetra. .
 In Garhwal, Abhimanyu Baja Nrity get is also called ‘Bala Ghnadyal’ . ghandyal is one of the oldest deities  of Garhwal

                  Draupadi baja Nrity-Geet:  A  very Interesting Folk Song for Pando Dance

      Pandon dance is performed everywhere in Kumaun and Garhwal and nobody can describe Garhwal-Kumaun culture leaving Pando dance-song
 The style of wordings dialects, song and dance of Pando nach-gan vary from village to village. However, the following characteristics are main characteristics of Pando dance :
1-Mandan- The plain place where the Pando dance-song  is performed.
2- Ag /fire ; mostly fire is burnt in the centre of dancing circle and Aujis also perform rituals before fire before initiating playing the drums and singing the Jagar (Now fire is slowly going out of scene)
3-Saraun- The sword dance is performed at the time of Bhim and Arjun Bjaj dance and at the time of Draupadi-k Chaundo’
4- Draupadi ko chaundo- In this dance sequence, the dance is as if devi jagar dance is there because Draupadi becomes Chandi in the story. In ravain region, women also dance as ‘Chausath kaliyan’ (64 kalis) and women dance with swords in their hand
5- Varta- the story sung by Aujess about Pandavas
                Psychological Aspect in  Draupadi Dance-Song

   The following song is for Draupadi dance (but not Draupadi chandon). When the song is analyzed the readers will find that the creator created song with full of knowledge of psychology. Drupad the father of Draupadi is motivating his daughter Draupadi  for choosing her bride-groom from brave people (mall )
Draupad uses word ‘Drupadi’, thereafter he uses word ‘Beti’, in next stanza Drupad uses word’ Kwanri (unmarried) ’ and at last he uses ‘bala (daughter/girl of teen age) for calling Draupadi. The wordings and their uses in a particular step show the knowledge of folk song creators who were not educated in any school but they were knowledgeable and knew psychology of motivation.

द्रुपद -- दुरमा गढ़ मा मालू का थावेड़ा
       तू बोल क्वांरी  कै माल बरदी
द्रौपदी--- छाती का बाळओंन जी किवाड़ खोलल़ो
       जो नौ पोल लिम्बू मोछुं मा थामलो
द्रुपद--- बड़ा बड़ा बीर स्वयम्बरा मा छन
     तू बोल बोल बाळी कै माल बरदी
द्रौपदी- डांडा जनि हत्थी भुज्जों मा राखला
     जैकी गरजाणि सुणी की दिगपाल कांपला
     धर्म हवालो जैको गद्दी का जग्वळया
     अर कर्म हवालो जैको भूमि को रख्वळया

 

               The song is about Swayambar for Draupadi that she would choose her groom from Braver the most from braver (mal) . Draupad the father of Draupadi informs her about who are joining the Swayambar and Draupadi says what type of person she would choose.
