Himalayan Ranges, Kausani Early Morning Scene @ Kausani
Three Himalayan mountains grouped together consists of Trishul mountains. It is located in western Kumaun which is in the state of Uttarakhand near the district of Bageshwar. The Trisul mountains form the southeast corner of the ring of peaks encircling the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. It is located fifteen kilometers west-southwest of the majestic Nanda Devi. Trisul is named after the trident of the Hindu god Shiva.
The three peaks are called Trishul I, Trisul II and Trisul III. The main peak is Trishul I which is situated at a height of 7,120 metres (23,359 feet) above mean sea level. Trisul II and Trisul III are situated at a height of 6,690 metres (21,949 feet) and 6,007 feet( 19,708 feet) above mean sea level respectively.
This lofty Trishul mountain can be best seen from Kausani and Bedini Bugyal. Nanda Ghunti is located in the northwest while Mrigthuni is located in the southeast of Trishul.
