Abbott Mount.

Location -165 km away from Kathgodam railway station & 9 km from Lohaghat.

a clear day from September to May, one can see an unobstructed view of the higher Himalayas, from the Gangotri massive on the left to the Dhaulagiri range on the right. A panoramic view of 600 kilometers of snow covered Himalayas with Nanda Devi and Panchachuli at the center. It is the ideal place for a holiday without any distractions, especially for those who want to paint and read and write - far from the crowd and distractions of the 'rat race'. Its a perfect retreat for families from the long hot summers of the plains. its the type of place where one could comfortably reside for a week or a couple of months at a stretch.

Abbott Mount has changed little since its inception. There are only thirteen secluded cottages spreads over this private hill. J. H. Abbott built "Snow view" cottage for his son and daughter in law. There is a picturesque church set amidst the forest and an ancient cricket pitch with an unsurpassed view of the mountains.
