KHUPRATAL :-At an altitude of (1635 MT) there lies just another beautiful spot at a distance of 12 km from Nainital popularly known as Khurpatal. It is considered to be anglers paradise having clear water and a good harvest of fishes.
You Can Visit By Trecking(On Foot) by a shorter route of 5 km, Taxi Or By Package Tours.

SATTAL:- Literally meaning seven lakes is a group of small lakes nested together, about 23 kms from Nainital at an altitude of (1370 MT) still untouched by modernisation -one can see the natures beauty at its best.
You Can Visit This Place By Taxi Or By Package Tours.

TIFFIN TOP :- (2290 mt) also known as Dorothy's seat -in memory of an English lady Mrs. Kellet Dorothy, who was killed in an air crash Tiffin top is a short trek of about 3 kms from Nainital and provides excellent view of the Himalayas and the town.
You can Visit this Place By Horseback Or On foot.

VIEW POINT :- About 5 kms away from Nainital on the way to Kilbury, nestled at a height of about (2300 MT)is the beautiful tourist spot, from here one can have a glimpse of mighty Himalayan ranges and lower forested ridges. It is a very good place to pass some time in solitude enjoying the beauty of nature.

CHINA PEAK :- (2611 MT) The highest peak of Nainital provides a challenge to the most avid trekkers. Situated about 6 kms from the town China Peak is known for its splendid Bird's eye view of the town, the Himalayas and also the vast expanses of the Terai regions of Kumaon.
You Can Visit This Place On Foot Or By Horse back.

SARIATAL

SARIATAL :- At an altitude of (Approx. 1750 MT) there lies a beautiful picnic spot at a distance of 9 kms. from Nainital known as Sariatal. It consists of a beautiful lake and a waterfall. The lake is fed by Spring water. The villagers nearby use this water for irrigation and drinking. It is said that the Khurpatal lake is also fed by the spring water of Sariatal Lake . Recently the 11th finance commission has given Rs.1crore 30 lakhs for the development of this lake and due to this development the lake has taken a beautiful shape. You can visit by Trekking (On Foot) by a shorter route of (4.5kms.), Taxi or by package tours.

Nainital is a cosmopolitan locality and abounds faiths and believes associated with various and sects of people living here through generations. The sixteen sankars of life as enunicated in Hindu religion are observed with slight modifications and amendenments which make the Kumaoni style of observance.Hill temples are the monuments having admixture of deep sense of art and culture. Sculpture varies with time of inception of the temple.The mode of worship is also different in many aspects from that of the plains. Modern day temples are more alike the temples of the plains, and the older ones fit to the Kumaoni influence.

 These temples act as the nucleus of the social and cultural activities. After harvesting season people mostly relax,rejoice, fance and sing thus a festivals is generated. At the transition of sun from one constellation to another Sankranti is observed. Each sankranti has a fair or festival connected to it somewhere in Kumaon,

1 Km away from bus stand High Altitude Zoo inNainital a habitate of Himalayan black bear ,Leopard ,Siberian Tiger,Palm civet cat, Wolf, Silver Pheasants, Siberian Tiger .at Nainital Zoo Rose ringed Prakeet, Hill Fox , Ghoral, Barking Deer, Sambhar. The zoo remains closed for visitors on Monday, all national holidays , Holi & Diwali

तालों में ताल- नैनीताल, बाकी सब तलैया

कुमाऊँ क्षेत्र में नैनीताल जिले का विशेष महत्व है। देश के प्रमुख क्षेत्रों में नैनीताल की गणना होती है। यह 'छखाता' परगने में आता है। 'छखाता' नाम 'षष्टिखात' से बना है। 'षष्टिखात' का तात्पर्य साठ तालों से है। इस अंचल मे पहले साठ मनोरम ताल थे। इसीलिए इस क्षेत्र को 'षष्टिखात' कहा जाता था। आज इस अंचल को 'छखाता' नाम से अधिक जाना जाता है। आज भी नैनीताल जिले में सबसे अधिक ताल हैं।

यहाँपर 'नैनीताल' जो नैनीताल जिले के अन्दर आता है। यहाँ का यह मुख्य आकर्षण केन्द्र है। तीनों ओर से घने-घने वृक्षों की छाया में ऊँचे - ऊँचे पहाड़ों की तलहटी में नैनीताल समुद्रतल से १९३८ मीटर की ऊँचाई पर स्थित है। इस ताल की लम्बाई १,३५८ मीटर, चौड़ाई ४५८ मीटर और गाहराई १५ से १५६ मीटर तक आंकी गयी है। नैनीताल के जल की विशेषता यह है कि इस ताल में सम्पूर्ण पर्वतमाला और वृक्षों की छाया स्पष्ट दिखाई देती है। आकाश मण्डल पर छाये हुए बादलों का प्रतिविम्भ इस तालाब में इतना सुन्दर दिखाई देता है कि इस प्रकार के प्रतिबिम्ब को देखने के लिए सैकड़ो किलोमीटर दूर से प्रकृति प्रेमी नैनीताल आते - जाते हैं। जल में विहार करते हुए बत्तखों का झुण्ड, थिरकती हुई तालों पर इठलाती हुई नौकाओं तथा रंगीन बोटों का दृश्य और चाँद - तारों से भरी रात का सौन्दर्य नैनीताल के#े ताल की शोभा बढ़ाने में चार - चाँद लगा देता है। इस ताल के पानी की भी अपनी विसेषता है। गर्मियों में इसका पानी हरा, बरसात में मटमैला और सर्दियों में हल्का नीला हो जाता है।
 


नैनीताल के ताल के दोनों ओर सड़के हैं। ताल का मल्ला भाग मल्लीताल और नीचला भाग तल्लीताल कहलाता है। मल्लीताल में फ्लैट का खुला मैदान है। मल्लीताल के फ्लैट पर शाम होते ही मैदानी क्षेत्रों से आए हुए सैलानी एकत्र हो जाते हैं। यहाँ नित नये खेल - तमाशे होते रहते हैं। संध्या के समय जब सारी नैनीताल नगरी बिजली के प्रकाश में जगमगाने लगती है तो नैनीताल के ताल के देखने में ऐसा लगता है कि मानो सारी नगरी इसी ताल में डूब सी गयी है। संध्या समय तल्लीताल से मल्लीताल को आने वाले सैलानियों का तांता सा लग जाता है। इसी तरह मल्लीताल से तल्लीताल (माल रोड) जाने वाले प्रकृतिप्रेमियों का काफिला देखने योग्य होता है।

नैनीताल, पर्यटकों, सैलानियों पदारोहियों और पर्वतारोहियों का चहेता नगर है जिसे देखने प्रतिवर्ष हजारों लोग यहाँ आते हैं। कुछ ऐसे भी यात्री होते हैं जो केवल नैनीताल का "नैनी देवी" के दर्शन करने और उस देवी का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करने की अभिलाषा से आते हैं। यह देवी कोई और न होकर स्वयं 'शिव पत्नी' नंदा (पार्वती) हैं। यह तालाब उन्हीं की स्मृति का द्योतक है। इस सम्बन्ध में पौराणिक कथा कही जाती है।
