Shaharphatak

Shaharphatak is a small village in Almora District of Uttaranchal. State Highway connecting  Lamgara and Shilalekh passes nearby. Almora is the nearest major town. The River Kosi flows close to this village. Bordering places are  Mornaula,  Sunari, Lamgara and  Kapleshwar.

Shaharphatak is well connected by road with Almora. Kathgodam Railway Station is the nearest major railhead. Pant Nagar Airport serves this area.

Gwalakot

Gwalakot is located 26 km from Almora. Kosi River flows through it. This place offers an enchanting view of the snowy peaks of Himalayas. Nearby attractions include Ranikhet, Dwarahat and Kausani. Pant Nagar Airport is the nearest airbase. The nearest railway stations are at Kathgodam and Ram Nagar.

Thakala

Thakala is a small village, which lies at the border of Bageshwar District of Uttaranchal. The place is located near Kausani, Garur, Pajena, Sirkot, Agarkot, Sengad and Agar. The Sarju flows very close to this village.

The state highway connecting Kausani and Baijnath passes nearby. Bageshwar is the nearest major town. Those with a religious orientation can take time to visit Baijnath, the place famous for the temple complex built by the Katyuri kings.

Gwaldam

Gwaldam, at 6,000 ft above sea level, is a Himalayan village about 22 km from Baijnath, the site which houses several ancient temples. Gwaldam is an ideal base camp for trekking in the Himalayan region. It is also one of the best places to view the  Himalayan ranges. Gwaldam is a small market town surrounded by beautiful apple orchards. The river Pindari flows through this region. Enroute to Gwaldam one can have a splendid view of the Trishul Peak, and thick pines set against the backdrop of the Himalayas.

The road extending from Gwaldam winds its way through dense forests and terraced fields dotted with rustic cottages of the small towns Tharali and Narain Bagar, to meet the Ranikhet-Pandukhal road at a place called Simli, which is 8 km short of Karnaprayag.

Gwaldam is 30 km away from Kausani, one of the most unspoilt regions in Uttaranchal. Jolly Grant Airport at 263 km, is the nearest airport and the closest railway station is Rishikesh Railway station. Buses are available from Dehradun, Kotwar, Almora, Pithoragarh, and Dharchula. The best time to visit is May, June, September and October.

Garur Valley

Garur Valley in Bageshwar District of Uttaranchal is renowned for archeological remains of 12th and 13th century shrines. The famous Baijnath Temple is located in this valley. Baijnath Parvati Temple is another major attraction in this valley. Gomti River flows through Garur valley. Pant Nagar Airport is the nearest airport and Kathgodam Railway Station is 200 kilometer away. The valley is around 100 kilometers from Almora.

Ramtal

Ramtal is located about 9 km from Chakrata and lies on the Chakrata-Mussorie route.

A water tank surrounded by a garden is the major attraction here. Shaheed Veer Kesri Chand Fair is held here. A temple and a memorial dedicated to the freedom fighter Veer Kesri Chandra is located nearby.

Chauli ka Jali (District Nainital)

Chauli ka Jali is situated adjacent to the Mukteshwar Temple, in Mukteshwar, Uttaranchal. It is a natural lattice around the rock. It is believed that barren women who came and touched the lattice were blessed with a baby. There are faint outlines of a sword a shield and a trunk of an elephant which bears testament of a battle fought here between a demon and a goddess.

Sem- Mukhem

Situated at an altitude of 2,903 m, Sem-Mukhem is famous for the temple of Nag Raja. Sem can be reached by a 7 km trek from Khamba khal, the last motorable point. The temple is situated on top of a hill, 5 km from the village of Mukhem.

Bampa

Bampa is a rural hamlet in Chamoli District, Uttaranchal. Malari, Jelam and Shyama are the nearby places. Joshimath and Chamoli are the nearest major cities. Niti, a scenic village situated in the Dhauli Ganga valley of Garhwal Region, is easily accessible from here. Niti Pass is within a short distance from here.

NITI.

Niti is a scenic village situated in the Dhauli Ganga valley of Garhwal Region, in Uttaranchal.   It is in fact the last of such settlements on the Indian side – the   hamlet is right along the Tibet – China border. Gamsali is the last   settlement on the Indian side that can be reached by vehicle. Niti is 6   km from Gamsali. The Niti Pass connects Niti with Tibet.     Niti is a conservative village where the residents believe in communty   living. Marccha community form the majority of the inhabitants. Wedding   and festivals are time for bonding and those families that have migrated   out of the village in search of work return to be a part of the   merriment. Infact, it is this kinship that gives the community an   identity.
Puja, celebrated in honor of goddess Nanda Devi, is a major festival in   Niti. During the festivites, the idol is taken from one home to another   in a procession, usually led by a group of dancers. Singing, dancing and   merry making continue till late
