Jaspal Rana (born June 28, 1976) is an Indian shooter. He contested mainly in the 25 m Centre Fire Pistol category. He was a gold medallist at the 1994 Asian Games, 2006 Commonwealth Games, and 2006 Asian Games. At present, Rana coaches at the Jaspal Rana Institute of Education and Technology in Dehradun.
 
Early days
Rana was born in Uttarakhand. He grew up in Mussoorie, Dehradun Nainbagh and later on in Delhi and studied at the K.V. Air Force Station Tughlkabad, and St. Stephen's and Sri Aurobindo colleges. His first coach was his father, Narayan Singh Rana, an ITBP official. Later on Tibor Ganazol coached him to perfection.
Rana made his national début at the age of 12, at the 31st National Shooting Championship at Ahmedabad and won won a Silver Medal. He shot into Standard Pistol shooting fame when he won a Gold at the 46th World Shooting Championship (Junior Section) with a world record score at Milan, Italy, in 1994.International eventsRana won most of his medals in the Centre Fire Pistol event, but has also won Air Pistol, Standard Pistol, Free Pistol and Rapid Fire Pistol events. He has won more than 600 Medals at the national and international levels.
At the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, he equalled the world record in 25 m Center Fire Pistol with 590 points (he had made this score twice previously; in 1995 in Coimbatore, and in 1997 in Bangalore in the national competitions). The Indian Olympic Association sparked controversy when it announced that Rana would receive the 'Best Sportsperson' award at the Asian Games; but it was awarded to Korea's Tae Hwan Park. Awards and recognitionIn 1994, he was awarded Arjuna Award, the second highest award for achievement in sport, by the Indian government at an age of eighteen, by twenty one he became PadamShree and in between he was awarded National Citizen award by none other than Mother Teresa, other awards of national fame also came his way like windfall.Political careerRana is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Shortly after the Asian Games, he indicated that he would be interested in contesting elections and campaigning for the party. Recently political party BJP has announced that Rana will be contesting Lok Sabha elections from Tehri seat which also comprises most of the Dehradun town, Uttarkashi and Tehri district of Uttarakhand.Personal lifeHe is married to a lovely lady Reena Rana, also a fashion designer and national level shooter, and has two children, one daughter Devanshi, and son Yuvraj.

Parimarjan Negi is the new face in the field of chess in India. Born on February 9, 1993, the chess player has shot into limelight by becoming the youngest Indian to earn the much coveted Grandmaster title in the sport. Negi developed the passion for chess right from his childhood. He started playing chess at the tender age of four. Over the passing years, Negi has climbed the ladder of success and has delivered commendable performance in the game, both at the national and international levels. Today, he is one of the prominent names in the field of chess and has been quickly recognized as someone to watch for, in the years to come.

Ladder Of Success
In 2002, Negi registered his maiden international success, when he won the Asian Under-10 championship at Tehran. In July 2005, he scored his third and final IM norm at the international Open in Sort, Spain, which made him the world's youngest International Master in chess. In the following year, when he earned his third and final Grand Master (GM) norm at the Chelyabinsk Region Superfinal Championship at Satka in Russia, he gained the position of the second youngest Grandmaster ever, second to Sergey Karjakin. By doing so, Negi replaced Pentala Harikrishna, as the youngest ever Indian Grand Master.

Personal Life
Parimarjan Negi was born on 9 February 1993, in Uttaranchal. At a very early age, the family shifted its base to Delhi. His father is an air traffic controller, while his mom is an executive in the Life Insurance Corporation of India. Parimarjan is studying at Amity International School, Delhi.

Bachendri Pal summited Everest on May 23, 1984 via the standard south east ridge route. She was the first woman from India to summit Everest.

Mir Ranjan Negi
 
Mr Ranjan Negi is a field hockey player and former goalkeeper of the India national field hockey team. He would later be involved with the development of the 2007 hit film, Chak De India.
 
He returned as a goalkeeping coach for the 1998 Asian Games in which the India national field hockey team won the Gold
Four years later, Negi was hired to be the goalkeeping coach of the India women's national field hockey team. The team won the Gold at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.He was also the assistant coach for the Women's team when it won the Gold at the 2004 Hockey Asia Cup
 
Mir Ranjan Negi entered the second season of the show(it is the indian version of Dancing with the stars and BBC's Strictly come dancing) with the choreographer Marischa Fernandes. He reached the semi finals against Sandhya Mridul, Prachee Desai and jai Bhanushali all three of them were tv actors. Mr Negi as he was affectionatly referred to by the judges surprised everybody by his dedication despite being the oldest contestant. He also worked in an album (maya ku mundaru) by the garhratana mr. Narendera singh Negi. The song is Harshu mama. He is also working in a movie "Chakachak Mumbai".
