It was important for both Rajya Lakshmi and Bahadur Shah that they continued the Gorkha Kingdom expansion as initiated by Prithvi Narayan Shah.  It was also essential that to minimize conspiracies and tussles among court elites that the Kingdom kept busy in wars and battles.  Encouraged by tussles between Rajya Lakshmi and Bahadur Shah, Chaubisi Region Kings started attacking on Gorkha Kingdom.  When Bahadur Shah got Care Taker (Nayab) position, he sent an army to suppress Chaubisi Region Kingdoms. When Gorkha army reached to Tanhun in Jnuary 1778, the Tanhun King ran away and took asylum I Palpa.  Later on the combined forces of Tanhun, Palpa and Parvatraj captured back the hill regions of Tanhun and Chitaun from Gorkha Army. Now, the Chaubisi combined force reached to Urdang Gadhi. Bahadur Shah sent another army to tackle the situation. The new force defeated Chaubisi combine force. In 1779, Tahun King had to flee towards plains.
In the mean time, Rajya Lakshmi got again the position of Nayab and Bahadur Shah had to flee to Patna. Tanhun army again got back the Tanhun hill territory from Gorkha. In December January 1781, Caubisi combined force attacked on Gorkha region.
