Gurkha/Gorkha Capturing Morni
The Gurkha/Gorkha army led by Amar Singh and other commanders could not capture Kangra for three years. Now, Gurkha/Gorkha Army reputation was being challenged. The smaller Kings were not caring for Amar Singh.
Sirmaur King started challenging Gurkha/Gorkha regime. Handur King used be ready for attacking Gurkha. The Kingdoms of twelve territory started uniting to attack on Gurkha/Gorkha army.
Kunwar Veerbhadra was son of Amar Singh daughter and was deputed by Nepal Court in Kangra. Amar Singh sent army led by Ranjor Thapa and Veerbhadra for capturing Morani Fort of Sirmaur Kingdom.
The gurkha/Gorkha army leaders as Veerbhadra Thapa, Ramsundar Thapa, Ranjor Thapa, Balisingh Adhikari, Daljit, Ripudaman Thapa, Arimardan Thapa, Chandra Vir Thapa,Umrao , bhinraj Thapa were winners in Morni Battle between Gurkha/Gorkha army and Sirmaur Army. Ratnaprakash fled without his family members from Morni Fort and his wives had to follow him without any protection. Gurkha/Gorkha treated enemies with all the cruel methods. Gurkha/Gorkha cut noses, ears, hands etc to territories the subjects of Sirmaur.
Ranjor Thapa took the administration of Sirmaur and started ruling Sirmaur as King. He used to offer donation and used award poets too. Maularam also reached to Sirmaur and told a poem in appreciation of Ranjor Thapa. Ranjor Thapa donated huge money to Maularam and Jagir of Panvata Gaon.
Gorkha /Gurkha Fourth Attack on Kangra Fort
After capturing Morni Fort of Siramur Kingdom, Gurkha/Gorkha army got enthusiasm and new life too. Amar Singh Thapa called Veerbhadra from Sirmaur and attacked on Kangra Fort. Sansar Chand wrote letter to Sikh King Ranjit Singh for help. Sansar Chand cautioned Sikh King Ranjit Singh that after win over on Kangra Fort, Gurkha/Gorkha would win Kashmir, Punjab and Lahaur, Peshwar.
Ranjit Singh with his army reached to Kangra in August 1809. Amar Singh offered money to Ranjit Singh. Ranjit Singh denied the offer and cancelled the conference between him and Gurkha/Gorkha. Sikh King Ranjit Singh wanted to dispatch Gurkha/Gorkha from Kangra. Other Kings also welcomed Sikh King Ranjit Singh. There was a meeting between Sansarchand and Sikh King Ranjit Singh at Jwalamukhi temple in August 1809. Ranjit Singh took vow not to deceive Sansar Chand by the idol of Jwalamukhi Goddess. Sansarchand handed over Fort to Sikh King Ranjit Singh.
At that point Gurkha/Gorkha army was having scarcity of Guns and Gun powders. Sikh Army came to near Kangra Fort and started gunning on Gurkha/Gorkha army. Initially Sikh army got setback but later on Sikh Army defeated Gurkha/Gorkha army Amar Singh put treaty proposal. Ranjit Singh asked him to take Gurkha/Gorkha army by crossing Sutlej and be in east of Sutlej. Gurkha/Gorkha army was forced to take army out of Kangra Fort region.
Ranjit Singhand Sansarchand went to Fort door on the same elephant. On 24th August 1809, Ranjit Singh took the right on Kangra Fort.
Defeated Amar Singh Thapa surrounded Malakada Fort but Sikh Army followed and dispatched them east of Sutlej East.
Amar Singh Thapa wrote letter to Nepal Court that Ranjit Singh had captured Kangra Fort and Gurkha/Gorkha was in east of Sutlej River. Amar Singh asked further course of Action for Nepal Court.
Nepal Prime Minister Bhim Sen Thapa and King Geevarnyudhvikram were furious and they dispatched Kaji Bakhtawar Basnyat to campaign for West of Sutlej River.
Ranjit Singh took gifts from Sansar Chand and went to Lahaur. He deputed Sardar Fateh Singh to lead there and keeps eyes on Amar Singh Thapa activities. Ranjit Singh also kep one thousand soldiers in Kangra Fort.
