The King should receive tax from the shops of the shopkeepers as land tax and should receive Road tax from travelers for maintaining the public roads.
By this way, the king should collect taxes and should protect all.

गान्धर्वश्चैव तंत्राणि उपवेदा: प्रकीर्तिता: II
Upvedas are – Rig-Veda, Yajurvaveda, Sam Veda, and Atharvaveda –these are Veda while Ayurveda, Dhanurveda, Gandharva Tantra, Tantra are Upveda.
Dhanurveda is knowledge about the army and its art and science. Gandhraveda is about Dramas and Music science and art. Tantra Veda is about the knowledge of Architecture, Machines, Utensils, Weapons, etc.

ऋग् रूपा यत्र ये मंत्रा: पाद्शोsर्घर्चशोsपि वा I
येषां होत्रं स ऋग् भाग: समाख्यानं च यत्र वा II
In rig part of Vedas, is that in that portion the Mantras are for the praising of gods and the Mantras of that Veda portion are arranged in rhymical form as quarter verse or half verse and in that portion of Veda, the Mantras are used for sacrifice.
