Most of the time, Indian philosophy focused more on controlling mind and paid least attention on controlling body or least discussed on the importance of body in comparison to mind. Mahabharata discussed about equal importance of body and mind. Vigyan Bhairav talks about body and its importance for gaining final freedom from worries. Interpreting Vigyan Bhairav, the famous contemporary interpreter of Indian philosophy and spirituality Osho tells that Indian philosophy paid attention too much on mind than body.
The modern Garhwali story ‘Jog lahar’ (Hilans, May 1988) is one of fine philosophical stories in Garhwali language by Kali Prasad Ghildiya that searches the difference between body and soul for attaining quietism, monastic ism, asceticism and apathy. Effectively, the story writer attracts the attention of readers for thinking the importance of body and mind in attaining quietism, monastic ism, asceticism and apathy. Ghildiyal tries to find the more important factor between body and mind for attaining quietism, monastic ism, asceticism and apathy. Madhoram has six children and an aggressive wife. To provide them basic living facilities, Madhoram works hard in his office and works part time in other organizations too. Some times Madhoram gets wave of quietism, monastic ism, asceticism or apathy. However, one day Madhoram finds the more important factor between mind and body.
Kali Prasad Ghildiyal proves that he is one of the master story writers in modern Garhwali fiction world by this story defining quietism, monastic ism, asceticism or apathy in simple and understandable words. Ghildiyal’s specialty is that he makes understand the readers the philosophy smoothly.

Garhwali story ‘Mankhyat’ (Hilans, July, 1988) by Kali Prasad Ghildiyal is about precept and practice. A famous writer writes about eradication of untouchability, difference between race and color. However, when time comes the writer does not practice what he preaches in his writing.
The story about precept and practice is written in letter style and the victim is writing letter to the writer. As usual the language is simple and many Hindi words. The story about precept and practice ‘Mankhyat’ is effective in providing message to readers.

Vijay Singh Lingwal is multifarious Garhwali literature creator. Apart from poetries, he wrote Garhwali stories too. His Garhwali story ‘Rukma ‘ (Hilans, August, 1988) discusses the subject of woman as consumable object, the need of taking loan from unethical money lender, the economic problem in rural Garhwal and role of money lending in rural areas.
The people depend on agriculture in rural Garhwal. When the agriculture goes down, people take loan from money lender and money lender charges heavy interest. Kalam Singh took loan for his marriage from money lender. Kalam Singh was unable to repay the loan after many years. The sevety two years old money lender asks Kalam Singh to marry his teen age daughter with him. Initially, Kalam Singh did not agree but at the end he agrees to marry his teen age daughter with old money lender. After marriage ceremony Rukma comes to house of money lender and next morning, there is great shock for all.
The story writer could create characters very easily and in characterization, Lingwal discusses various issues on importance of money lender and his exploitation. At the end he raises the question of woman being a consumable object.
Lingwal writes stories in simple style with Tiryali dailects. Mohan Lal Negi and a couple of other writers also wrote stories on money lending and women as consumables.

Kali Prasad Ghildiyal wrote Garhwali stories on varied subject. ‘Band Kapat ‘(Hilans, Sept-October 1988) is about struggle of a woman alone due to her husband being away for seven years. When a man harassed her for *ual exploitation she took hard decision but the society and her just returned husband took the side of deceptive male dominancy. The story seems very real s story writer uses common Garhwali phrases and pays attention on characterization.

Literature cross fertilization means mutual exchanges between dissimilar concepts, culture, classes, classification that enhance understanding or produces benefits to the literature that is adapting the other concepts.

Aditya ram Dudhfudi, Bhishma Kukreti are leading translators of Sanskrit literature into Garhwali prose and Kukreti also translated many stories of foreign languages.
Ktha, Chakhuli, Makhi, mendhka ar Hathyunki
Famous Garhwali playwright Lalit Mohan Thapliyal translated a Jatak story (Hilans, January, February, 1989). Great Garhwali drama activist Thapliyal showed his intention that he was translating the Jatak story from English to show Garhwali writers that if there is Garhwalipan in literature automatically the standard Garhwali would emerge.
The story is inspirational and Thapliyal adapted the story with Garhwali phrases and changed many Hindi words into Garhwali as per grammatical rule.
The story translation is best example of literature cross fertilization in Garhwali language

Garhwali story ‘Dusari maut’ (Hilans, January-February 1989) by famous Garhwali story writer Kali Prasad Ghildiyal is about sadness or disappointment for promise failure. When Kamla was at death bed, his wife took promise from him that after her death, he (her husband) would marry to her younger sister Kusum . The behavior of Kusum was such that it was obvious that she would marry her brother in law (her deceased sister’s husband). When the time came he asked Kusum for the proposal. When Kusum revealed the truth he was shocked and disappointed that he could not fulfill his promise to his wife. The story depicts various human behaviors. Kali Prasad brilliantly portrays characters needed for the story.

The in law conflicts, quarrels, differences, tensions, stress or strains are common subject of worries all world from the day marriage system came in existence. Most of the time families divide or pain of the families are due to conflicts or tensions between mother in law and daughter in law. Psychologists or social scientists as Dr. Teri Apter (2008), Chrisman Almeida (2009), Philips J. Swehart (2006), Pawlik -Keinlen (2007) provide various reasons for the in laws conflicts or tensions.
Virendra Datt Maithani searches the reasons behind the differences or tensions between mother in law and daughter in laws in Garhwali story ‘Anjali’ (Hilans, March 1989). An orphan girl Anjali is married to Dharmu. However, mother in law could not balance the relationship and there started family tension on daily basis. One day, Anjali took hard decision and she went to forest. Dharam also went in search of his wife. However, when the incident took place in the forest it was irreversible shock for mother in law for her whole life.
Maithani narrates story in simple way and twists in the story came as if these are way of life. At the end, story writer provides unbearable shock to the readers.

Kali Prasad Ghildiyal selects subject for his stories from the society. In Syani’ (Hilans, May-June 1989) story, he takes the subject of conflicting situations between desires of a mother from her son and the ambitions of the son. When Kirti Singh was in the womb his father expires. His mother Saka takes every care for his development and for his studies. After passing B.A, Kirti Singh goes to Delhi and gets good job. Saka dreams that her son marries the daughter of Thokdar ji of their area. However, Kirti Singh is very ambitious. The difference between the dreams of Saka and ambition of Kirti Singh takes the death toll.
The story telling style of Kali Prasad is as usual simple narration. The dialogues and phrases create desired images for the story. The twist and conflicting situations are from the real life.

Kali Prasad Ghildiyal is famous for writing Garhwali stories on the psychology of women as is example ‘Sahara’ (Hilans September, 1989) . Kamal and Kanta are neighbors and childhood mates. Their love has long history. When Kamal was young, Kanta needed his friendship for his emotional support. When Kanta married to other person, her total devotion was for her husband. Kamal realized that women are as creeping plants that both require support. Kali Prasad Ghildiyal uses many symbolic incidents to support his argument that women and creeping plants require outside support. The story also searches the emotional and physical support of women. The narration is successful in engaging readers and the end of story compels the readers for deep thinking about emotional and psychological needs of women.

Bhishma Kukreti wrote two types of stories a social genre stories mostly related to women subject and other satirical stories. ‘P’ku Parpanch’ (Hilans, November, 1989) is a satirical and humorous story satirizing government administration and bureaucracy. The author’s uncle requires additional money every month through money order. The author who is working in Mumbai wants that family should establish a business of horticulture and for that the author goes for loan. The author visits Gram Pradhan (chief village councilor), Patwari (Revenue officer) and Block officer. Every where he finds the hurdles of bureaucratic procedures and the bribe is common factor in each department. Lastly when he reaches to block he finds that none from three types of officers (top boss, deputy boss, executive boss) is present. The author comes daily but no officer attends the block office. Because, one is under probation, second is under promotion and third is under punishment. Since, nobody is interested to work in rural areas every officer has gone to Lucknow for their transfers. One officer who is under punishment was caught in three bribe cases and was caught for gang rape.
Kukreti uses repeated words (metaphorical) and various Garhwali phrases those create humor and at the same time readers feel anger on the government administration.
