      Pratibimb Barthwal is multitalented literature creator. Pratibimb Barthwal was born in 1964, Sirain village of Langur Patti, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand.
     A graduate in medical science is working in UAE. Pratibimb create poems in Hindi and in Garhwali too.
    Pratibimb Barthwal published a few Garhwali poems in periodicals and in Internet medium. Pratibimb is blogger and he translates various subjects from Hindi to Garhwali to Kumaoni and vice versa. Pratibimb believes in integrated Uttarakhand in terms of language and culture.
   Pratibimb Barthwal posted Garhwali poems of various subject and his style is creating small poem as well larger poems. He creates in conventional style and free verses. Humor and satire are part and partial of poetry by Barthwal
     His subjects of Garhwali poems vary from contemporary matters, changes in social values,  culture and to spirituality.
     Pratibimb Barthwal uses conventional and nonconventional phrases for creating perfect image. His uses of Anupras Alankar (alliteration) are excellent. Mostly, his small poems are satirical, sharp and compel readers for thinking.

(Review of ‘Jhumpa’ a Garhwali Children Lyric Collection )

       Yatendra Gaur is famous Garhwali lyricist and poet. Yatendra Gaur released a few cassettes discs too. 
 Recently, Yatendra Gaur published Garhwali Children lyric collection ‘Jhumpa’.
    There are many folk songs in Garhwali. However, now, due to Hindi medium education, folk songs related to children are gone in history books.
         Before, Yatendra Gaur, Dharmendra Negi published Garhwali story lyrics collections. Abodh Bandhu Bahuguna and Puran pant Pathik published children poetry collections. Many Garhwali poets published children lyrics here and there but in organized way.
   There are 56 children lyrics in present collection. There are various subject types of lyrics in Jhumpa as spiritual (Ma Saarsuti, Myar Mab), relationship (  Bwe Bab, Bwe ki ladali, Bwe); domestic animals (Bachhi meri baurani );animals (Machi tulak,  Guni bandar, Aija ghughti); mother’s call ( Myara Biji ja); learning counting and other mathematical puzzles ( Awa ginti gava ); nature  (Kandali, Himalai ); lullaby (Lori); festivals (Pandra August, Hori); patriotism , psychology (Supin); great people, fantasy, mental disciplines children related items as ghutya and many more subjects halya etc.
    The language of each lyric is very simple and children may sing and understand easily.
    फूल रंगिलो फुलेरी रंगिलो
   हर्याळी ऋतू मा फुलदेई रंगिलो

ग्यानि ध्यानि स्वाणो सुभौ, द्य्वता सि समान छया

  Yatendra Guar used dialogues types in many lyrics ( Patt geet, Jhamm Jhamle )  ) too as  -
भरत –डाळी डाळी फल फूलों की लदकद हुयी झम्म झमलै
     गाढ़ी त्वोड़ी ल्हौंलू त्वेकू थौला भ्वोरि - झम्म झमलै
शकुन्तला – आज त्वेकू पक ऐ धरीं लस्प्सी खीर - झम्म झमलै
    The simplicity language of lyrics ensure that the children will enjoy all the lyrics by Yatendra Gaur .
   The songs compel children that they start imagining further to songs.
   Yatendra Gaur uses phrases and figure of speeches, metaphors, similes enjoyable by children. Wisely Gaur repeats words for children enjoying the poems as –
  आवा  गिन्ती  गावा
एक द्वी तीन बींगी ल्यावा
एक –हे जरा मिथे बि दे

छतरु मेरु वाअरे छतरु प्यारु छतरु
दगुडू म्येरू वाअरे दगुड़ू नयारू द्गुडू
  Brilliant poet Yatendra Gaur uses such symbols that children can get the perfect desired imageries as –
   लब्बि स्या लंगत्यार ल्हेकि
इक्सन्या इकसार ह्वेकि
बाटू हिटणा सुर सुरीक
हाँ ! किरम्वळू जी कख बिटिक ?
    The lyrics by Yatendra Gaur are successful in inspiring children for taking action.
     Poetry critics Dr. Nand Kishor Dhoundiyal appreciated children lyrics by Yatendra Gaur. Learned poetry critics Dr. Manu Dhoundiyal stated in an interview that as world poetry remembers C.F. Alexander, William Blake, Robert Burns, Robert Frost, and Rudyard Kipling for their contribution for children lyrics, Garhwali society will remember Yatendra Gaur for creating Garhwali children lyrics.

 Mochhang: A Mile Stone for Modern Garhwali poetry Development

                Pundit Chakradhar Bahuguna (born 1902-expired) published his modern Garhwali poetry collection in 1938.  Chakradhar Bahuguna had already published the said poems of the collection in various periodicals and books.
       The appreciating fact of the Mochhang is that Chakradhar Bahuguna classified Garhwali folk Songs professionally. Perhaps Chakradhar is one of the initial scholars classifying Garhwali Folk Songs professionally.
    There are fifteen poems in the volume.
 Mochhang poem is about importance of mother tongue and promotion of its literature –
  धार ये गाड़ वो , डांडी –मैदान से
एक ही भौण माये हुन्गरा भरी .
ओर से पोर तैं गाजली गूंजली
आज मोछंग का गीत संगीत मां
The Hit Kamna poem  is a spiritual prayer based basically on folk song
.Bal Mukund is about love for child and child behavior narrated by a mother-
सौदो  छ दूध  अरु नौण धरीं छ  मेरी ,
औ, भूक सया अति बुलौंदि छ लाल ! तेरी I
 Vidai is a pathos rapture poem about a dead girl solacing her mother. 
बिनसरि मूं ही सूर्य किरण की
प्रथम चमक मां बण लाली
औलो तेरा दर्शन कू मै
जाण निद्यौ क्वी दिन खाली I
 ‘Khud’ poem is again pathos about pain of separation.
‘Choli’ is spiritual and is heart touching poetry.
‘Dotyal’ illustrates the pain of migrated Nepali labor working in Garhwal. The poem is one of the best poem illustrating pain of separation from mother land by any migrated one.
   अभागी ! छोड़ी की घर , नगर औ देस सणी तू
किले औंदी ? क्या दौन् धरदी दिल मां आश सणीतू ?
उठौन्दी बोझ , औ कणकण कि तैं बाठ चलदी
खरी खोटी सहंदी पर जिकुड़ी स्या नी बिचलदी I I
 ‘Rathi’ illustrates about characteristics of Rath region and its simple but hard working people and their life style.
 ‘Chhaila’ is a love poem of pain of separation.
 In ‘Chandrama’ poem, Chakradhar Bahuguna illustrates the fine images for moon and moonlight.
‘Dhauli’ is again illustration of nature imagery about Ganga River.
‘Sandesh ‘is an inspiring poem.
  One of the best poems of this volume is Harijan. Chakradhar Bahuguna   raises the burning issue of untouchability and worsening economic condition, low position in the society of scheduled caste.
कथे जां, करां क्या ? भुल्यां बाठ सारो
न क्वी टेक बाकी न क्वी भी सहारो I
बड़ी जोर की या लगी खैंच ताण
कुजाणो उड़ोना हमारो पराण I
   There are all types on emotions in this poetry collection by Chakradhar Bahuguna.
 Chakradhar Bahuguna uses simple phrases not only for illustrating simple subjects but complex subject too.
  The language of poem s by Chakradhar is from Shrinagar region that is standard Garhwali.
   Chakradhar Bahuguna uses Sanskrit poetry system (conventional) in creating his poems.
   Critics as Abodh Bahuguna,Dr. Jagdamba Prasad Kotnala appreciated the contribution of Chakradhar Bahuguna for developing Modern Garhwali poetry genre.
  Poetry critic Dr. Manju Dhoundiyal states that the place of Chakradhar Bahuguna in developing modern Garhwali poetry is as the position of Osman Wang Awang, A. Samad Said,  Ahamad Kamal  Abdullah, Dinsman,  S.Z. Ismail, Rahimidin Jahari for developing modern Malay poetry literature.

     The Garhwali poetry collection ‘Tum Cup Kilai Chhin’ by Dipak Nautiyal ‘Nishant’ (B.1975, Javari, Rudraprayag) is concerning for Himalayan Villages, Himalayan societies and Himalayan environment.
    There are 40 varied subject Garhwali poems in the present collection.  The subjects are pain for rural Himalayan women, migration from Himalayan villages, Changing Himalayan villages, nature imageries of Himalaya, ruined Himalayan villages, love, helpless Himalayan villagers those could not migrate and many other subjects.
       The poetry forms are modern and melodious too.  Dipak uses frequently Rudraprayag dialects but do not disturb the readers. Dipak Nautiyal offered only one lyric in the volume.
      Dipak has been successful in making images by proper symbols common and unconventional ones-

  There are various mood and tones in the present poetry collection.
  Garhwali Drama activist Gajendra Nautiyal and poetry critic Manju Dhoundiyal appreciated poems by Dipak Nautiyal.
