 Hosting U’khand celebrity chat on internet  (गढ़वाल पोस्ट में २६ फरवरी, २००८ को छपी खबर)

Dehradun, 26 Feb: A website dedicated to Uttarakhand has made a successful attempt to woo highlanders on the internet. The website, www.merapahad.com, is regularly hosting celebrity chats with personalities of the hill state.

Very recently, Mera Pahar organised a chat with Uttarakhandi female singer Meena and her husband Sanjay Kumola. In the past, the portal has hosted such initiatives with renowned Garhwali singer Narendra Singh Negi, character artist Hemant Pandey, singer Kalpana Chauhan, film director Sanjay Khanduri, TV star Varun Badola and Lead India finalist Sanjay Darmoda.

Rajneesh Agnihotri, media manager of www.merapahad.com, says, "The response has been overwhelming. Three to four hundred surfers participate in the Uttarakhand celebrity chat. In the future, we plan to invite hickey coach Mir Ranjan Negi and Ad Guru Prasoon Joshi."


The website is an initiative of Sanju Pahari, who is doing his studies in the US. He has formed the Creative Uttarakhand group. Its members include next generation youngsters from various institutes, universities and a range of professional organisations. This website is especially popular among the non-resident Uttarakhandis. Its membership is expanding with each passing day and presently highlanders living in the US, Singapore, Germany, UK, France, Russia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Dubai, Kenya, India and Japan are its core members. The central objective of the platform is to prop up Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage and organise on the ground activities.

The website informs surfers about the celebrity chat through various Uttarakhand web-groups via email.

The website is dedicated to the promotion of the distinct Uttarakhandi culture. By inviting the celebrities, www.merapahad.com is providing a forum and the web surfers a chance to share their views. Otherwise, it is not easy for people living in the metros to directly interact with the personalities belonging to Uttarakhand.[/color]

अरविंद शेखर, देहरादून लोकगायक नरेंद्र सिंह नेगी हों, हॉकी कोच मीर रंजन नेगी हों, बॉलीवुड में पहाड़ का नाम रोशन कर रहे तिग्मांशु धूलिया, संजय खंडूड़ी,वरुण बडोला,हेमंत पांडे, शिल्पा सकलानी या कोई और उत्तराखंडी मूल की सेलिब्रिटी। इन सबसे बात करने की इच्छा किसकी नहीं होती। आप चाहें अमेरिका में हो या चीन में, मगर समस्या यह है कि इन व्यस्त लोगों से बात कैसे हो। उत्तराखंडी सेलिब्रिटीज से पहाड़ के लोगों की सीधी बातचीत के लिए प्रवासी उत्तराखंडियों की एक वेबसाइट मेरा पहाड़ डॉट कॉम www.merapahad.com ने अनोखी पहल की है। वह लोगों को इन सेलिब्रिटीज से चैटिंग की सुविधा मुहैया करा रही है। मुंबई के रजनीश अग्निहोत्री मेरा पहाड़ डॉट कॉम के समन्वयक हैं। मेरा पहाड़ के एडमिनिस्ट्रेटर अनुभव उपाध्याय ने बताया कि हाल में ही उनकी साइट पर कुमाऊंनी मूल के रुपहले पर्दे के कलाकार हेमंत पांडे से करीब 1500 लोगों ने चैटिंग की। उन्होंने हेमंत से उनके मूल स्थान, उनकी पसंदीदा डिश, उनके पसंदीदा लोग, पंसदीदा पहाड़ी गीत-नृत्य आदि के बारे में सवाल किए। लोगों ने उनसे यह जानना चाहा कि वे पहाड़ के बारे में क्या सोचते हैं, और उत्तराखंड के लोगों के लिए क्या कर सकते हैं। हेमंत ने भी सभी लोगों के सवालों के रोचक जवाब दिए। अनुभव का कहना है कि दरअसल उनकी काफी दिनों से कोशिश थी की उत्तराखंड के लोग विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में उल्लेखनीय काम कर रहे लोगों से सीधा संवाद कर सकें। इसलिए मेरा पहाड़ डॉट कॉम ने यह पहल की। इसके लिए वेबसाइट पर संदेश छोड़ दिया जाता है कि अमुक दिन इतने बजे लोग अमुक सेलिब्रिटी से ऑनलाइन चैट कर सकते हैं। उस दिन वे सेलिब्रिटी ऑनलाइन रहते हैं। उनके साथ मेरा पहाड़ डॉट कॉम का एक व्यक्ति होता है, क्योंकि सेलिब्रिटी के उतनी तेजी से टाइप न कर सकने के कारण वे तुरंत जवाब नहीं दे सकते। वह चैट बॉक्स में सवाल देखते ही जवाब देते हैं, जो उनका सहायक टाइप कर देता है। सेलिब्रिटी की प्रामाणिकता के लिए कि फोनचैट भी कराया जाता है, ताकि लोग आवाज से उनकी पहचान कर सकें। अनुभव के मुताबिक वे अपनी साइट पर सेलिब्रिटी की फोटो, उनकी क्लिपिंग और उनके काम की जानकारी भी अपलोड कर देते हैं, ताकि विदेश में बसे उत्तराखंडी उन्हें पहचान सकें।
