Dear Bhatt Ji,

We have forwarded your queries to Aajtak. Let us wait for their response. However, I am not fully in agreement with your statement that the news was sponsored. Do you think that that there is no corruption at all in Uttarakhand?.

If we share the list, it will go in many pages. Public is dump there and opposition is fully fractured. Only regional party UKD is also shareholder of the Govt wrong practices. Who is left there to raise the voice against the wrong practices.

I am sharing an example of one our friends who wanted to invest in Uttarakhand and he was asked for cores of rupees bribe to set up industry. Most surprisingly, he was from Uttarakhand soil but no support was extended to him. His aim was to open BPO in Uttarakhand and finally he set-up it in Asaam.

Now coming to the point. we need development and only development and not the news and corruption report like this which are exposed national level channel. Somewhere such news tarnishes the image of the state. Nobody would like Uttarakhand is highlighted at National Channels for such reasons.

I am pretty sure corruption very much exists in Uttarakhand but only thing we need channel like Aajtak and others expose time time the corrupt news.

TV channel Aaj Tak scandalise things by half truths .

1.The biggest scandal in the Power Sector took place during Congress rulein Uttrakhand . It remained unnoticed and unreported by the media .The scandal was the formation of UIPC a Joint Venture
between GoU & IL & FS.The GoU  had mortagaged its rights to identify and call bids for HydroPower Projects.Hydro Power potential of entire Uttrakhand was placed at the disposal of this organisation. Real players were private partners. It is good luck of Uttrakhand that this outfit failed to do any substantial progress though they remained the sole authority in this matter for a number of years.IL & FS was to share the monetary benefits with the GoU includingpremium and royalty. Please study the MoU of theJoint Venture and expose your detractors .

2.A Company is a Juristic Person irrespective of the fact who itsdirectors and promoters are. One company is to be considered one person as per law laid down by the Supreme Court of India.

3.Whether a company has given the right address or not it is for the Registrar of companies to see. GoU is to verify financial and technical strength of the concerned company. In past projects were allotted to those companies who had no experience of executing Hydro Power Projects. The result is before us .They have done nothing to build the projectsand our people are still living in era of utter darkness. We need to allotprojects to those who are performers and not to those who have nil track record. We have allotted projects to such companies which have adequate experience and are enthusiastic to go in for construction at the earliest so that power needs of the people are met.4. It is strange that media remained silent when HEP Project as big as 440 MW Vishnu Prayag Pipalkoti was allotted to a private operator without calling any bid and charging Upfront Premium.

 Dear Friends,
First of all we must understand that general elections are near, so, each party has to gear up itself to be in limelight. What better than mudslinging. General public does get fooled by such moderated political campaigns.
1. Does the national political parties have guts to table their report with facts and figures and then let a non-political think tank take a fair view.
2. The worst that happened with Uttarakhand is total control of national parties with national agenda minus local issues.
3. These national parties are controlled from Delhi by high command and each decision is taken in its unique way.
4. Unfortunately, UKD, the only regional party did not get that support and by their functioning, it is unlikely to come in power.
5. If, a regional party is strong, then, national parties decisions can not be thrust upon the state.
6. Uttarakhand has seen BJP and Congress elected governance minus the default BJP govt. that ruled in buffer period after separation from UP.
7. Only one last chance remains with the citizens of Uttarakhand. Elect, i repeat elect a regional party, and bring them in majority, for once.
8. If not then a five year standard rotation of BJP and Congress governance will continue, and over the period of time, same game will repeat.
9. Public will crib, politicians from national parties will have a hearty laugh, and by then endless blogs and emails would have been exchanged, bringing the same issues, again and again.
So, i appeal the citizens of Uttarakhand to think and act now, or it will be never. Dreams will remain dreams. They will never become reality. I sometime wonder, what did i get as a participant of civil movement for a separate hill state of Uttarakhand. Nothing but one reality that development is far away than imagined.

Hi,
I also watched the program on Aaj Tak that night. Its really very shameful that political
leaders, who are well educated and can contribute for the development of this state are
involved in such scams (Although facts are yet to prove by some agency like CBI/CID).
The points which News Channal claimed looks very realistic, like, Government issued
more than 75 Mega Watts for the same person which is totally against the Law of
  Uttarakhand state.

Aaj Tak telecasted a video clip also where one political leader is sharing the information
that most of the tenders are given to the relatives of Chief Minister (As per News Chennal
and that Leader) and somebody offered him also the same proposal by paying 5 Lacs
Rupees or so and the tender will be issued for that Leader's name but that leader refused
  to accpet that offer!!

Enough happened when the Chennal verified about the addresses mentioned on
Uttrakhand website which were not correct and while visiting the location, they found
some residential houses in that area instead of Industry.

Its our fault also that we send wrong leaders in the assembly and they represent
State/Country and ultimately we have to suffer.

Thanks & Regards,

hemanshu joshi <hemanshu10@yahoo.com>

Dear Group Members

It is a pleasure to see such a great response from all the members on this and other meaningful topics. But are our concerns and voices reaching right people?

Our voices will be no better than mere sulking within the confines of this yahoo group, unless they reach the ears of people who can decide, persuade or take action. Is there a way our concerns and voices are covered by media which has wider audience in our region? Is someone working in this regard? In past Raju Gussain ji used to act as a bridge between our social media (yahoo group) and print media. Will he or someone else will take up this matter forward?

Cheers!!!

Dear All
With all respect, in my opinion, the basic question of absent of state Rehabilitation policy with special reference to Uttarakhand land holding, current hand management and state share in land ownership need to be debated before one talk about the current development paradigm on which state function.
