A clarification on this mail.
This is the incident of 2006 where Mr N S Negi had to cancel his show due to some issues with Virasat.
This time, similar kind of programme is perhaps being organized by "Virast". Our humble request / suggestion to this largest Social Organization is that they should involve maximum participation from Uttarakhand since the programme is going to held there.
Secondly, some dignitaries like Girish Tiwari (Girda), Mr Shekhar Pathak, Rajendra Dhasmana etc should also be included as an consultant for promoting folks and culture of Uttarakhand.
It has also come know that only a few people from Uttarakhand are associated with the "Virasat" so that they can give their inputs to it for working in right direction.
Due respect should be given to Uttarakhandi artiest.
These are our concerns with "Virasat".
All the best to "Virasat" for the upcoming programme, if work in right direction towards up-liftment and promotion of Uttarakhand folk music and its culture.

It will be recalled that Narendra Negi’s musical album ‘Nauchami Narayan’ is one of the most in demand VCDs ever in Uttaranchal. It is a satirical comment on the emerging political culture of the state which has struck a chord with the people. By turning away Negi, Virasat has proved to be merely the outward form of the performing arts, a mere marketing exercise – certainly not the repository of artistic conscience.

मेहता जी, बात यंहा २००६ की घटना तक ही सिमित नहीं है, बात है सही या गलत की, सबसे बड़ी शर्म की बात तो ये है २००६ को ये घटना हुई, थोडा हल्ला मचा और ख़तम हो गई. अगर इसी तरह कोई भी आपके ही घर में आपको और आपके सम्मानित लोगों को बेइज्जत कर के चला जाएगा तो क्या बाकी के लोग आपका या आपकी भावनाओ का सम्मान करेंगे.
आज उत्तराखंड में इतना बड़ा कार्यकर्म होता है, पर कितने उत्तराखंड के लोगो की इसमें भागीदारी होती है, और जो लोग सस्कृति के नाम पर विरासत को संभाले की बात करते है अगर उनको ये ही नहीं पता की उत्तराखंड की संस्क्रती क्या है और और के लोगों की इज्जत केसे करनी चाहिए वो क्या उत्तराखंड की संस्कृति को लोगों के सामने लायेंगे .
बात यंहा सिर्फ नरेन्द्र सिंह नेगी जी की ही नहीं है बात है आत्मसम्मान की है.
अगर उत्तराखंड के अन्दर कोई भी संस्था है तो उसके अन्दर उत्तराखंड के लोगों की पूरी भागीदारी होनी चाहिए, जितने भी उत्तराखंड के सम्मानित लोग है जेसे की- गिरदा, शेखर पाठक , मृणाल पाण्डेय, नरेन्द्र सिंह नेगी, प्रतिभा नैथानी आदि कई लोगों के बिना इस कार्यक्रम की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है.
जो संस्था उत्तराखंड के गौरव माने जाने वाले उत्तराखंड स्वर सम्राट की इज्जत नहीं कर सकती है वो आम उत्तराखंड के लोगों की क्या इज्जत करेंगे.
अगर ये २००६ से अभी तक ये कार्यक्रम चल रहा है टी इससे साफ़ जाहिर होता है की शायद हमें ही अपने सम्मान की कोई फिकर नहीं है.
इस बार हमारी कोशिश होनी चाहिए की इस संस्था के सभी बाहरी लोगों के साथ साथ अधिक से अधिक उत्तराखंड के लोग इस संस्था के अन्दर आयें और उत्तराखंड के लोगों को बाकी के सभी लोगों की तरह पूरी इज्जत मिले.

दोस्तों आज जब मैंने ये घटना सुनी और पड़ी तो अब क्या कहूँ कहने को भी कुछ नहीं है,"विरासत" इनको ये नाम हटाकर कुछ और रखना चाहिए वो है निशाचर,जिनको विरासत के म्याने नहीं मालुम हैं वो विरासत को क्या समझेंगें और क्या जानेंगें उस देवभूमि मैं पैदा होने वाले उन सहिदों की कहानी और क्या समझेंगें देभूमि मैं बसने वाले उन देवताओं के बारे मैं, अब तो वो देव भी सरमा जायेंगें की हमारी देवभूमि मैं यैसे भी राक्षस पैदा हो गए हैं जो की हमारी परम्परा और संसकिरती को बर्बाद कर देना चाहते हैं
दोस्तों अब तो येएसा लगता है कि -अप्निआप को उत्तराखंडी कहने मैं भी खुद को सरम आती है इन बैस्रामों कि वजह से ! दोस्तों उत्तराखंड के सम्मानित लोगों के बारे मैं ये सुनकर तो बडा अजीब लगत है , ये लोग केवल उत्तराखंड मैं ही सम्मानित नहीं हैं बल्कि समूचे विश्व मैं सामान दिए जाने वाले लोग हैं !
और आज इनको इनके ही देश मैं इनके ही लोगों ने ये क्या कर दिया मैं उन देवों से प्रार्थना करूंगा कि इनको कभी भी माफ़ नहीं करना और यैसे राक्षसों को कभी कहीं भी कोई सम्मान न मिले जिन्होंने नेगी जी के साथ ऐसा ब्यवहार किया है !
ऐसे भी कौनसी संस्था है जो कि विरासत के म्याने नहीं जानती हैं !

Dear All,
I have been reading emails on this subject, and it is time to react.
1. I want to ask, what is uttarakhandi and what is anti-uttarakhandi organisations. Define please. I would love to have a list for my knowledge.
2. All those who are ignorant of the the cultural development that has taken place since 1993 of the SPIC MACAY's days, need not to comment on the people involved in establishing REACH that holds Virasat, every year, despite of not geeting desired grant from the and now Govt. of Uttarakhand.
3. I am commenting because as a senior journalist i had been witness to SPIC MACAY and REACH's efforts, since 1993, this is the year when i landed in my home town, permanently.
4. I dis-respect all those members who do not know the facts and figures and start sending sensitive emails.
5. Why is the noise of joining hads to fight against anti uttarakhandi people? Are all those not anti uttarakhandi who sit in comforts of their office and over drawing room gossip try to tarnish the image of any organisation.
6. Yes, the goof up regarding Mr. Narendra Singh Negi was not a deliberate act, it has deeper roots, that can not be posted on email. So, have guts and talk to organisers, if you have any. They are on the web.
By the way, hate mails are to be condemned. If any one of you guys have questions, you could ask me over the mobile. I would love to answer unbiased.
