साथियो,

आज मेरापहाड़ से जुड़ रहे है वरिष्ठ पत्रकार एव प्रसिद्ध लेखक श्री नवीन जोशी जी । श्री नवीन जोशी जी का पत्रकारिता में लगभग तीन दशक से भी अधिक का अनुभव है! जोशी जी की पैदाइश भी उत्तराखण्ड में हुई है।

हमारे सदस्यों के विशेष आग्रह एव जोशी जी के लेखनी की लोकप्रियता के मद्देनजर पर हमने जोशी जी से मेरापहाड़ पोर्टल में लेख लिए अनुरोध किया और अपने अति व्यस्त शेडयूल होने के बाबजूद भी जोशी जी ने हमारे इस अनुरोध को बड़ी सहजता से स्वीकार किया है। इसके लिये मेरापहाड़ जोशी जी का बहुत आभारी है!

जोशी जी अपने समयानुसार यहाँ पर तमाम विषयो पर अपने लेख लिखेंगे, आशा है आप सभी को जोशी जी लेख पसन्द आयेंगे।

Professional Experience                 32 years in print media.

September 1978: began career as an apprentice with Swatantra Bharat, Lucknow. Appointed sub Editor in 1979 and promoted as Sr. Sub Editor in 1983.

Sept 1983: Joined Nav Bharat Times, Lucknow as Sub Editor and Promoted as Chief Sub Editor in 1985.

Sept 1991: Came back to Swatantra Bharat as Joint News Editor, became its Asst Resident Editor in 1992, Deputy Resident Editor in 1996 and Resident Editor in 1997.

Aug 1998: Joined Dainik Jagran, Lucknow as Editor Coordination.

Aug 1999: Joined as News Editor, Hindustan, Lucknow and became its Resident Editor at Patna in June 2002. Came back in Nov 2003 as Resident Editor, Hindustan at Lucknow and presently is its Executive Editor, looking after UP editons


Publications      :

‘Apne Morche Per’ and ‘Rajdhani Ki Shikaar Katha’, both collections of short stories and ‘Dawanal’, a novel on the famous Chipko movement of Uttaranchal.

Articles, features, interviews and editorial comments on Science, Literature, Politics, Environment and other relevant social issues.

Born on 4th June 1956 in a far-flung village nestled amongst the Lower Himalayas, Naveen took to journalism fired by his sheer concern for the downtrodden. His pain for the victimised has invariably manifested in all his writings including innumerable features and columns over the last 28 years.
 
Naveen was mentored by the illustrious Editors Ashok ji and Rajendra Mathur during his early years as a journalist. Graduating in Science he joined Swatantra Bharat, the then leading daily of Lucknow as an intern apprentice. Naveen worked for Navbharat Times for almost 8 years before he rejoined Swatantra Bharat as its Resident Editor. He had a yearlong stint with Dainik Jagran after which he entered Hindustan, Lucknow as its News Editor and rose to become the Resident Editor of its Patna Edition in June 2002. He came back in 2003 to lead the Hindustan’s Lucknow team. Presently he is Executive Editor of Hindustan at Lucknow, looking after all UP editions

Naveen is best known for his upright and fearless editorial commitment. His human-interest features and regular columns have been widely acclaimed. Among his favourite topics are science, literature, environment, politics and media’s role in society. His passion for nurturing journalistic talent takes him to Lucknow University campus as a regular guest faculty in the department of journalism and mass communications.

An awarded storyteller, Naveen’s short stories have been published by well known literary magazines. He has two collections of short stories published to his credit and a novel  DAWANAL on the famous chipko movement in Uttarakhand, Himalayas.

He is married to Lata, a theatre activist herself, who also works for bank. They have two sons.

यह हमारे लिये अति हर्ष का विषय है कि नवीन जोशी जी जैसे प्रतिष्टित लेखक व पत्रकार हमारे फोरम का एक हिस्सा बनने जा रहे हैं. उनका उपन्यास "दावानल" उत्तराखण्ड में अब तक हुए जनान्दोलनों का सजीव चित्रण करता है, मैं अब तक लगभग 10 बार "दावालन" पढ चुका हूँ.

जोशी जी के विचारशील लेखों का इन्तजार है.

नवीन जोशी जी जैसे प्रख्यात, विद्वान और अनुभवी पत्रकार और लेखक का मेरा पहाड़ से जुड़ना, उनकी उदारता को परिलक्षित करता है। मैने उनके ब्लागों पर उनके लेख पढ़े है और मैं समझता हूं कि हमें उनसे बहुत कुछ सीखने को मिलेगा। अपने अपार अनुभवों से जोशी जी अब हमारे फोरम को भी अभिसिंचित करेंगे, यह हमारे लिये गर्व की बात है।
