The fair of Bikhauti is held in the town of Dwarahat, about 64 kms from the town of Ranikhet (28 kms from Almora). This archaeologically and traditionally imperative town is situated on the Karna Prayag Road and is just six kms from the extremely famous and pious Dronagiri temple. The town of Dwarahat was once the capital of Katuyari Royal clan of Kumaon and has a group of temples dedicated to Mrityunjaya, Dhwaj, Badrinath, Maniyan, and Kachri Devtas.
DATE :Bikhauti Fair is celebrated on the day of Vishuwat Sankranti day commemorating an ancient victory.

Bikhauti Fair has been triumphant in keeping hold of its mature splendor and cheerfulness to a big amount. Another fair called the Somnath fair is also held on the day of Vishuwat Sankranti in the Shiva temple situated at Masi. It is a very famous ancient fair of Pali Pachhaun. Cattles, especially bullocks and calves are sold at the Somnath fair. The summers usually see the unique Machhli Utsav (the fish festival) celebrated with the villagers bearing tumra come with Jaal, fatyav and hathiya to the river to catch fish. The fish festival is locally known as Dahau especially in the regions of Masi and Bhikiasen.

Date of Celeberation : The temple fair is organized between the months of Poush and Chaitra (March) during which the entire valley of Punyagiri reverberates with the sound of chants, hymns and devotional songs.
BACKGROUND :
Purnagiri is located on the top of a hill and is 20 kms from Tanakpur. Purnagiri It is located on the right bank of the river kali. Also known as Punyagiri (meaning the mountain of good deeds), the Purnagiri temple is visited by thousands of devotees throughout the year. The temple fair is organized between the months of Poush and Chaitra (March) during which the entire valley of Punyagiri reverberates with the sound of chants, hymns and devotional songs.
The most amazing thing about this fair is that it starts from Vishuwat Sanskranti and continues for about forty days (starting from the winter Navratras). Legend has it that this is the place where Ma Sati, a human incarnation of Goddess Durga, immolated herself when her father insulted her and her husband Lord Shiva. The temple is located near the banks of River Kali.

Name of Fair : Bishwat Sankranti
Place : Chomoli District.
Date : 14 to 17 April Every Year.

On the 13th day of April every year the big fair known as Bishwat Sankranti is held in the district. This fair is also mentioned in the Pandukeshwar inscription of Lalitashuradeva issued in the 22nd regnal year. It is also held at Ming (April 14), Aser (April 15), Hans Koti (April 16), and Kulsari and Adbadri (April 17). Another important fair of the district is the Gaucher Mela held at Gaucher in Karnprayag in the month of November every year and is attended by number of persons. Others fairs of importance are the Nautha at Adbadri, Naumi at Hariyali, Nanda Devi at Bedni, Dattatreya Pooranmasi at Ansuya temple, Nagnath at Dewar Walla.

Mundneshwar Fair is a prominent festive occasion celebrated in Pauri Garhwal District of Uttaranchal. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The devotees of the lord throng the site of the fair and offer their humble worship. This annual event is held on the 6th of June. Apart from being a religious event, this fair offers an opportunity for the people to mingle together and celebrate.
