Growth of tiger (Bagh) in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand is a hill state comprising thousands of small hamlets mostly surrounded by jungles all around.  Around thirty years back, tiger (Bagh) was seen in dense forests and considered to be most dangerous for the pet animals during the daytime when most of the animals were left alone for grazing. 

In the hope of better livelihood, natives from all over the state started migrating to urbans.  India is shining through developments in the field of IT, Industrial growth, road infrastructure, sports etc.  But, the lackadaisical approach of all the governments in this newly constituted state could not contribute more for development in the villages especially for road connectivity.  Only fifteen-twenty percent helpless population remains in so many village hamlets.  People have ignored cultivating the fields and the jungles are spreading with fast pace, breaking the boundaries of the hamlets.

Though the people of Uttarakhand are neglected in the India Shining Campaign, ignorance of people in Uttarakhand has automatically given chance to wild animals to grow up freely in the newer and newer areas.  People got independence in 1947 but now these animals are enjoying the independence of the state by grazing and breeding freely in the ignored fields in the vicinity of the villages.  At least the tiger (Bagh) is lucky in Uttarakhand that government’s apathy for the people has become a boon for him. It is a blessing in disguise for the cat family in Uttarakhand. 

It cannot be ascertained how serious the state government is to protect the tiger from poachers and fires.  Little efforts by the government will definitely increase the number of tigers in Uttarakhand.

The number tigers in all over the India has drastically . In uttarkahand also, tigers are disappearing rapidly.  In gone days, due to fear of tigers, people used to fear to cut the forest.
Since the tigers are disappearing,  deforestation  has also increased.

हिम तेंदुए के पदचिह्न मिले
टेस्टिंग को भारतीय वन्य जीव संस्थान दून भेजा
गोपेश्वर। हिमालय में विचरण करने वाले हिम तेंदुए (स्नो लेपर्ड) की साइड खोजने के लिए वन महकमा पूरी तैयारी से जुटा है। केदारनाथ वन्य जीव प्रभाग के अंतर्गत ऊखीमठ क्षेत्र के हिमालयी क्षेत्र में रेकी कर रहे वन कर्मियों को हिम तेंदुए के पद चिह्न भी मिले हैं। वन विभाग ने इन पद चिह्नों को टेस्टिंग के लिए भारतीय वन्य जीव संस्थान देहरादून भेज दिया गया है।
वर्ष 1985 में बदरीनाथ वन प्रभाग के अंतर्गत जोशीमठ में हिम तेंदुए को देखा गया था। इसी दौरान सौखर्क में वनस्पतियों पर रिसर्च कर रहे एक विदेशी छात्र को हिम तेंदुआ दिखाई दिया था। इसके बाद से आज तक प्रभागीय वन क्षेत्रांतर्गत हिम तेंदुआ नहीं दिखा है। नंदा देवी बायोस्फियर रिजर्व जोशीमठ द्वारा वर्ष 2004 में की गई स्तनधारी प्रजातियों की गणना के अनुसार हिमालय क्षेत्र में कुल चार से पांच हिम तेंदुओं का अप्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण मिला है। केदारनाथ वन्य जीव प्रभाग के प्रभागीय वनाधिकारी डीके सिंह का कहना है कि यदि हमें हिम तेंदुए के दर्शन होते हैं, तो यह हमारे लिए उपलब्धि भरा होगा। इस वर्ष बर्फबारी अधिक हुई है। संभवत: हिम तेंदुए कुछ नीचे आ जाएं, इसके लिए लंबी दूरी की गश्त बढ़ा दी गई है।

उत्तराखंड में अगर टाइगर  को बचाना है तो उन्हें पकड़ कर चिड़िया घरों में डालना चाहिए और जो गाँव जंगलो से सटे हुए हैं उन गाँवों में टाइगर को पकड़ने के लिए पिंजरे लगाने चाहिय तभी टाइगरों को बछाया जा सकता हो नहीं शिकारी टाइगरों को ऐसे मार देंगें क्योंकिं आजकल टाइगरों का आतंक मचाया हुवा है !

अब या तो टाइगर बचाओ,या तो गाँव वालों को बचाओ
