उत्तराखंड में गठित होंगी चार इको टास्क फोर्स

 देहरादून। कारगिल में सेना संचालित आर्मी गुडविल स्कूल के बच्चों ने सोमवार मुख्यमंत्री सेवानिवृत्त मेजर जनरल भुवनचंद्र खंडूड़ी से सचिवालय में मुलाकात की। उधर, इको टास्क फोर्स के कमांड अधिकारी से भेंट के दौरान मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि राज्य में चार इको टास्क फोर्स गठित होंगी।
   भारत भ्रमण पर निकले इन बच्चों से परिचय प्राप्त करने के बाद मुख्यमंत्री ने उनका स्वागत किया। इस मौके पर उन्होंने कहा कि जम्मू-कश्मीर के दूरस्थ कारगिल क्षेत्र में सेना स्थानीय लोगों को चिकित्सा, शिक्षा व अन्य मूलभूत सुविधाएं मुहैया कराने का महत्वपूर्ण प्रयास कर रही है। देश सेवा के साथ समाज में सद्भावना पैदा करने के लिए सेना के कार्य को उन्होंने सराहा। उन्होंने छात्रों को उच्च शिक्षा दिलाने की संभावना पर भी सेना के अधिकारियों से चर्चा की। सीएम ने सेना में अपने सेवाकाल के संस्मरण भी सुनाए। उन्होंने दल का नेतृत्व कर रहे मेजर हरीश जोशी व मेजर विनीत सिंह और सदस्यों को राज्य के महत्वपूर्ण प्रतिष्ठानों में भ्रमण का न्योता दिया। दूसरी ओर, मुख्यमंत्री से आज इको टास्क फोर्स के कमांड अधिकारी कर्नल विजय जायसवाल ने भेंट की। खंडूड़ी ने उन्हें फोर्स की रजत जयंती पर शुभकामनाएं भी दीं। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य में पर्यावरण संरक्षण पर विशेष जोर दिया जा रहा है। राज्य में इको टास्क फोर्स के गठन का निर्णय लिया गया है। इस संबंध में भारत सरकार के रक्षा मंत्री से भी सहायता का अनुरोध किया गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि फोर्स के गठन पर अनुमानित पांच करोड़ रुपये व्यय होगा। केंद्र सरकार ने वित्तीय स्वीकृति जारी नहीं की तो राज्य अपने संसाधनों से चार इको टास्क फोर्स गठित करेगी। इनमें दो गढ़वाल मंडल व दो कुमाऊं मंडल में स्थापित की जाएंगी। उन्होंने बताया कि पूर्व सैनिकों के कल्याण के लिए राज्य में विभिन्न योजनाएं चलाई जा रही हैं।

एक नवंबर से शुरू होगी 'यूके' सीरिज

  देहरादून। राज्य में एक नवंबर से सभी वाहनों को यूके सीरिज के नंबर मिलने शुरू हो जाऐंगे। उम्मीद जताई जा रही है कि यूए सीरिज से बांटे गए पुराने नंबर भी यूके सीरिज के किए जा सकते हैं, इसके लिए विभाग की ओर से केंद्र को प्रस्ताव बनाकर भेजा जा चुका है। जल्द ही सूबे में यूके सीरिज जारी करने की विधिवत घोषणा कर दी जाएगी।
   सोमवार को परिवहन मुख्यालय में आयोजित बैठक में परिवहन आयुक्त की ओर से सूबे के सभी आरटीओ और एआरटीओ को इस बाबत आदेश जारी किए गए। बैठक के दौरान यूके सीरिज जारी किए जाने को लेकर कई पहलुओं पर चर्चा की गई। निर्णय लिया गया कि एक नवंबर के बाद से प्रदेश के सभी वाहनों के नंबर यूके सीरिज से शुरू किए जाएंगे। इसके लिए वर्तमान सीरिज के खत्म होने का इंतजार नहीं किया जाएगा। उदाहरण के तौर पर यदि 31 अक्टूबर को किसी संभागीय कार्यालय में जारी होने वाला अंतिम नंबर यूए- 8767 है तो एक नवंबर को दिए जाने वाला नंबर यूके-8768 होगा। इसके पीछे मुख्य मकसद यूए की पूरी सीरीज को यूके में परिवर्तित करना है। इसके तहत विभाग की ओर से केंद्र को प्रस्ताव बनाकर भी भेजा जा चुका है। माना जा रहा है कि अगर केंद्र से यह प्रस्ताव स्वीकृत कर लिया जाता है तो सूबे में भी यूए सीरीज का कोई नंबर नहीं दिखाई देगा। ऐसे में वाहनों में नंबरों में फेरबदल कर कोई धोखाधड़ी नहीं कर पाएगा। गौरतलब है कि राज्य का नाम उत्तरांचल से उत्तराखंड परिवर्तित होने के बाद से ही दिसंबर 2006 में परिवहन विभाग मुख्यालय की ओर से केंद्र को प्रस्ताव भेजा गया। लंबी चर्चा के बाद प्रस्ताव को केंद्र ने हरी झंडी दे दी। इस संबंध में केंद्र से स्वीकृति पत्र प्राप्त होने के बाद से ही इस पर जोर शोर से तैयारियां शुरू कर दी गईं। अब गजट नोटिफिकेशन होने के बाद इसे अमली जामा पहनाया जा रहा है।

Parsvnath gets govt nod for Rs 1,050 cr SEZ in Uttarakhand


MUMBAI: Realty major Parsvnath Developers today said it has received government approval for setting up an IT/ITeS Special Economic Zone at Dehradun in Uttarakhand for an investment of Rs 1,050 crore.

"The project will be executed by our subsidiary, Parsvnath SEZ Ltd. It will cater to the specialised needs of investors keen on setting up the world-class IT facilities in the region," Parsvnath Developers Chairman Pradeep Jain said in a notice to BSE.

With this approval the company now has three notified product specific SEZ at Indore, Gurgaon and Dehradun.

The company also has two approved SEZs at Kochi and Hyderabad spread over 11.11 million sq ft, which is awaiting the Centre's approval.

The company also has six SEZs with total area of 270 million sq ft, which has received in-principal approval from the Centre.

The total area for the Dehradun SEZ would be 35 acres with a total developable area of 3.8 million sq ft. The SEZ would provide infrastructure availability for the development of IT/ITeS related offices and industries in this high potential, unexplored region, Parsvnath informed BSE.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 357, up 2.60 per cent on BSE in afternoon trade.

Self employment picks up in Uttarakhand

Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand), Oct 10: Villagers in Uttarakhand are making a good living with a variety of self-employment activities initiated by a voluntary organisation.

The voluntary organisation helps these villagers with loans and gives them the scope to pay them back in kind.

"They gave us loan for the buffaloes and thus helped in milk-production. We sell the milk, vegetables and get a direct income," said Vikram Negi, a villager.

Rearing of cattle and milk production, farming of vegetables, keeping poultry and bees besides fish cultivation are among the activities giving self-employment to the villagers in the Rudraprayag district.

"After taking out the honey, they give a portion of it to us. Similarly, we give them seeds and after harvest they give back the seeds which we then give to other villages," said S.S. Rana, coordinator of voluntary organisation.

With ponds full of water at their disposal for irrigation purposes, the villagers no longer suffer from lack of water.

"We were doing farming before but then we were solely dependent on rains, as we had no other means of irrigation. But now, with ponds, our irrigation problem has solved. Our production has improved and we are not dependent on banks for loans," said Basudhra Devi, another villager.

Uttarakhand is popularly known as 'Dev Bhoomi' or the abode of gods. Ninety percent of the people depend on agriculture of their living.
