Why Dehradun should be the capital of Uttarakhand?
Following are the reasons:
Dehradun is connected to rail route
Dehradun is the biggest city in Uttarakhand
Dehradun has many big schools & colleges
Only airport to support big planes is near to Dehradun
Many times roads in hills are blocked in case of high rainfall and slides
Gairsain and nearby area are declared prone to Earth quakes
Gairsain lacks basic needs like proper water supply, good hospitals, good education etc.
Why Gairsain should be the capital of Uttarakhand?
Following are the reasons:
The capital of a hill state should be in hills
Gairsain with its natural beauty represents the culture of Uttarakhand
From Gairsain, it is possible to keep an eye on activities in Himalayas
Gairsain lies in the center of Uttarakhand
Gairsain is easily reachable from various hilly districts like Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Bageshwar etc
Gairsain as capital lies in the interest of hilly people
Dehradun is over crowded and not well developed. A new capital can be developed on standards

In support of Dehradun

Capital should be located at a place that is accessible from everywhere and not only within state. Also, there are landslides even when there is small rain. How come one can reach Gairsain in such or more extreme conditions?

If capital change is so important then atleast we should check our pocket that are we in a position to change capital? Are we in a position to afford this financial burden?
I don't think Uttarakhand is in a position of this big change.

Dehradun is connected to the country via rail, road and air. Hence, one can reach easily there. Gairsain is connected via road only and the roads are not 100% up all the time. So what is the point of shifting the capital to a place that is pain to reach.

Uttarakhand is a newly formed state containing lots of liabilities on its shoulders. As far as my opinon is concern, development of Uttarakhand is priority and not the shifting of capital to Gairsain at least at this point of time where governamemnt is not able to provide basic facilities to the people of Uttarakhand. Even our current leadership is not concentrating on development of Uttarakhand, they are busy in leg pulling.
In support of Gairsain

Dehradun has grown in an extremely haphazard manner, it is horribly congested especially the roads and above all it hardly reflects the true spirit of Uttarakhand topographically or otherwise.

All of us know that Dehradun was selected to be the capital of Uttarakhand on temporary basis. The search for creation and development of a suitable place has been on eversince. All of us also know that the infrastructure of Dehradun is not suitable for a newly created state. Dehradun has already become over-crowded and polluted.

The main objective to make Gairsain was the fast developments of hill areas. You might be knowing this that Uttarakhand is only hilly state of India whose capital is not in hill.
If today someone has to go to Dehradun from District like Pithorgarh, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Champawat etc, they will reach Delhi earlier than Derhadun.

We the people of Uttarakhand are from pahad and this should be loud and clear to our so called leaders that they should also have to come to pahad to understand the issues of people. Do they have a fear that Gairsain is not as developed as Dehradun? If yes than they have to take this responsibility to bring even Garsain to the same level of Dehradun.
