The initial shooting of Border film was also done in Chabotia Ranikhet. One of my friends told me that there was some difficulty in tieing Turban on Sunny Dewal's head then they called some Sikh Army person from Ranikhet Kumoan Regiment Centre.

Balakrishna and Director P.Vasu have just returned from Uttaranchal, after shooting there for 22 days. The shooting of the film took place in Nainital, Bheemghat, Sathal, Muktheshwar, Haridwar, and Rishikesh. This is the first film for which permission was given to shoot inside Raj Bhavan in Nainital.

Talking, about this film Balakrishna said, the director has given importance to family drama, the difference in story, and the grip over screenplay are the things, which will bring the audience to the theatres.  It has got all the ingredients, which you normally expect in my films. I am not new to doing films that are different from the regular trend. My films like “Samarasimhareddy”, “Narasihmanaidu”, had one trend, likewise “Bobbili Simham”, Rowdi Inspector had different trends. This film will be a trendsetter, when it comes to family films. I am happy to work with Director P.Vasu. The film has action where it is required and it is turning out to be a good family entertainer.

Director P.Vasu said, my relationship with Balayyababu started with the film “Annadammula Anubandham” and it is still continuing with good effect. I am doing a straight Telugu film after a long gap. I am happy to work with Balayyababu, who gives his life for friendship. I could not think of any body else other than Balakrishna for this role as hero. The character of the hero is full of emotions. Balayyababu is Director’s hero. His involvement in the role is very deep beyond the director’s imagination. In our combination this film is going to be a big hit. My earlier films in Tamil, which were remade in Telugu, turned out to be super hits.  I am familiar to the Telugu audience through films like “Muddula Mavvaya”, “Gharana Mogudu”, and “Assembly Rowdy”, and more recently the dubbed film “Chandramukhi”. It will be a sensational hit for me after “Chandramukhi”.

National Award winning Actress Meera Jasmine said, I am working for the first time with Balayyababu for the first time and I am extremely happy about it. I am satisfied with the character in the film. There is lot of scope in it. It will be another good film in my career.

Producer Vakada Apparao said I wouldn’t forget the co-operation extended to me by Balayyababu. I am extremely lucky to produce a film with him in the lead. He is acting in it as if it is his own production. I can safely say it will be another biggest hit in the career of Balayyababu.

Executive Producer Vakada Anjankumar said, Balakrishna, Meera Jasmine, Jayaprada, Naresh, Jayaprakeshreddy, Ali and others participated in the shooting schedule. We shot two songs under the dance supervision of D.K.S.Babu and Nobel. From June 15 for 25 days we will be shooting crucial scenes concerned to the film.

Story and dialogues is by Thotapalli Madhu and music is by Gurukiran, who has given many musical hits in Kannada. The Camera is by Sekhar.V.Joseph. The Screenplay and Direction is by P.Vasu

I remember...

Rajesh Khanna gets nostalgic after shooting in Nainital after 33 years

Kolkata, October 23: THE boats on Naini lake were moored for three days when Rajesh Khanna shot there for Kati Patang in 1972. Nobody could access the lake. ‘‘People should have been cursing us. Instead they were happy to have a film shoot in their town,’’ says Kakaji. When Khanna returned to Nainital after 33 years to shoot Shahrukh Mirza’s Jaana, Let’s Fall In Love Again, he was floored by the reception he got.

Old women and collegians thronged the shoot until even the police cordon had a bad time, he informs. ‘‘There were about 25,000 people for each shot. You would have thought they had come to watch a young star,’’ Khanna laughs uproariously.

Rumour has it that when Khanna married Dimple Kapadia, he received letters written in blood from heartbroken women fans. Now Khanna talks about teenage girls in Nainital, who bunked college just to get a glimpse of him. ‘‘When you get this much admiration, it’s an elevating feeling,’’ he says.

The actor gets nostalgic when he recalls the visit.‘‘It’s like coming back to where you started,’’ he says. ‘‘Time flies.

It did not seem that many years had passed since I shot there.’’ He goes on to recall enthusiastically that Kati Patang was the first film to be shot in Nainital and the film’s popularity put the hill station on the tourist map.

The actor-turned-politician was last seen in Kya Dil Ne Kaha about three years ago and is currently shooting for six films. He’s excited about his attire in Jaana—bermuda shorts, jacket, a red beret and a beard with a blond streak.

‘‘I’ve never worn such clothes and people were surprised to see me dressed like that,’’ he says. Khanna plays a lover, who returns to India to find his long-lost love, played by Zeenat Aman.

Aman plays a flirtatious but motherly character in Jaana. ‘‘She calls me a jolly person and we joked a lot. It was good to work with her again.’’

The Nainital audience remembered another of the actor’s unforgettable roles— Anand. ‘‘They would call out ‘‘babumoshai!’’ and I would turn around and answer in Bangla,’’ he says. After 40 years in the industry, the 170 films-old actor remains as charming as ever.
