Good point. It means we need ample resources to make a good product say an album and then market our product. In that case What could be the role of group like ours to promote the Uttarakhandi Folk music and how can we find the sponsors for folk music?

Uttarakhandi folk music is very sweet but most of the time it is not being marketed well. When the same music is used in films then it becomes famous. If you play ‘bedu  pako baro masa’ then probably many would not recognize but when you play the same tune in “ Thanda matlab coca cola” then nearly  everybody would recognize and appreciate.

So its the marketing of the song/music not the song to blame. How to break that scenario?
U know the cost of that add - 5 crore.
And the biggest hit album of our culture earns less then 15 lakhs. 15 lakhs means a worth to this industry.

Beofre searching these factors. We have to change mentality of our own community. Because persons who got little knowledge with good job left behind everything and even never interested to interact with anyone body.  Music is far behind. I have seen many paharis they they never listen our own songs deliberately.

I have seen in Bengalis all whether rich, poor they love their own music thats why it is flourished and you can see in all TV channels everywhere you will find bengalis becuase they love their culture by heart. The same mentality we have to create and whomsoever you ever meet, please insist him to listen our own songs and watch our own movie so that little by little all will inclined and our culture will flourish.

See Mehta jee,

It is a folk song, I think. If anyone says that he has written this song, he must have the copyright registration which is not possible. Second, any company who has first released the album he should have the copyright of this song. If not. Nothing can be done. But basically it is a folk song and it is the music of land anybody can use it.  I have heard from many music companies that according to the law of copyright lyric, tunes, rhythm and music can be copied but not beyond the limit of 59 seconds. So it is just nothing.

Joshi JI,

Thanx for your sharing your views on the issue.

I think Rama Music Company now-a-days obtaining copy rights on releases from their company. In such case, owner can lodge a complaint.

Thanx sir ji...
