Mukesh Thakur,,,,PAHARI SHER on Move
« on: October 25, 2007, 05:55:25 AM »
India's hopes at the 61st IFBB Men's World Bodybuilding Championship rests on Mukesh Thakur. This bodybuilder from Dehradun leaves for this prestigious championship, to be hosted in Jeju (South Korea) from 24 to 29 October 2007, on Tuesday. He is the only Indian to be selected to represent India in the senior section of the men's world bodybuilding championship.
Expressing confidence over his preparations, Mukesh said, "My preparations for the championship are complete. I am hoping to put up a good show in Jeju." It will be recalled that Mukesh created history by clinching a silver medal in the 41st Asian Men's Bodybuilding Championship in Shanghai (China). The Asian Meet concluded on 3rd September 2007.
This young and talented bodybuilder of Uttarakhand participated in the 65-70 kg weight category at the Asian meet. After his splendid performance, Thakur has been selected to represent Asia in the 61st IFBB Men's World Bodybuilding Championship in Jeju (South Korea).
Thakur has been working hard to give a memorable performance in the coming World Bodybuilding Championship. "As a part of my preparations for the championship, I have been doing workouts for six hours, three in the morning session and three in the evening. I will do my best to bring laurels for my country," Thakur added.
Mukesh has made it to the top of international bodybuilding through sheer hard work and dedication. Belonging to a middle class family, Thakur had to face many difficulties while opting for bodybuilding as a career. Sharing his thoughts on this, he says, "Besides dedication and hard work, bodybuilding demands huge investment. My father was a clerk in the State Bank of India and when I was studying in college (1999) he expired. His demise was a major setback for my family. Had I not got a job in Dena Bank in 2003, I would not have ever achieved this success at the international level. I am thankful to my Bank for providing me all the support."
The Korean Bodybuilding Federation and Jeju Bodybuilding Federation are jointly hosting the 61st IFBB Men's World Bodybuilding Championship.
