Dear All,
Bindar Mahadev which is situated at an altitude of 2,480 meters, at a distance of 22 km from Thalisain is the 9th century temple of Mahadev, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The sanctum of the temple also has idols of Lord Ganesh, Parvati and Durga.
This Temple was build by Pandavas in a single night, Bhim brought the rocks in night & while bringing the last stone, as soon as he could reach temple the sun rises & he droped the stone there only which is now know as Bharma Dungi (is 4 km from Mahadev) where one can see the beautiful sunrise which looks like that sun in emerging from earth.
It opens for two days only, the Mela held at night on the 14th day of Diwali,
Binsar Mahadev at night with the Mela
Inside the view of temple which is bulid with big big rock cut stones
People are dancing & singing all night
Sunrise form Burma Dungi
This temple is in so dense forest that we could see the temple only when we were 100 mtr far, it can't be seen from any other location
It is said that to throw a coin on the dome & if the coin stuck inside the dome (top portion of temple) your wish will fulfill & if it doesn't stuck first time, it will not stuck after it, trust me, on my fist time coin stuck in the dome & after that I throw many coins which could'nt even touch the dome, its power
Still the old people wear the Mala of Silver coin of one rupiya of Queen Elizabeth era
Some people had broken the idol of Nandi, from that time onward they (that cast) is banned to visit the Mahadev & even the Dodatoli forest
Manu script in Sanskrit is written on the wall of the temple but due to whitewash it was not visible & i cound'nt capture it
Hope you like them & will plan to visit one day................. i was planning for last 4 year & finally visited in 2008 Nov. along with my cousin & few local friends.
Jeep now goes to Tipsen from there Mahadev is only 12 km trem.
My mother visit it 39 year back & it took them 11 day from village & back
Cheers
Kiran
