Worshiping Ganga at Gangotri.
Gangotri (altitude 3042 metres) in the Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India, is the place where the sacred river Ganga is considered by millions of Hindus to descend to the earth from the heaven, though the actual origin of the river is at Gaumukh, about 18 km from Gangotri from the Gangotri glacier. With its beautiful & serene surrounding, Gangotri is a nice place to visit not only by the devout Hindus, but by all sorts of Himalaya-lovers. Gangotri is connected to Haridwar about 273 km away by good motorable road. It is a fantastic experience to visit this place.
