जैसे-जैसे सावन में शिवरात्रि आती है, वैसे-वैसे मन में कांवड़ लाने की हिलोर सी उठने लगती है। मैं पूरे साल कभी भी भगवान् का नाम नहीं लेता हूँ, ना ही कभी धूपबत्ती-अगरबत्ती जलाता हूँ, ना किसी मंदिर में जाकर मत्था टेकता हूँ, ना प्रसाद चढाता हूँ, ना दान करता हूँ। लेकिन सावन आते ही-चलो चलो हरिद्वार।

 यहाँ से दो किलोमीटर पैदल चलकर हर की पैडी के पास बिजलीघर में पहुंचे। यहीं हमने अपनी-अपनी कांवड़ रख दी। यहाँ पहुँचते ही चारों तरफ विराजमान देवी देवता बुलाने लगते हैं। हमें उनका भी तकादा पूरा करना पड़ता है। ऑटो किया और कनखल जा पहुंचे। यहाँ शिवजी के ससुर व सती के पिता दक्ष का मंदिर है। पास से ही गंगा बहती है। यहीं वो जगह है जहाँ दक्ष प्रजापति ने यज्ञ किया था और उसमे शिवजी को आमंत्रित नहीं किया था। आगे की कथा तो तुम्हे पता ही होगी।

गंगा नहाकर जल चढाया। इसके बाद मैं तो चला गया बहादराबाद स्थित अपने पुराने कमरे पर डोनू व सचिन के पास। आशू बाकी लड़कों के साथ मंदिर के पास ही सो गया। सुबह उठकर वे सभी चंडी देवी मंदिर चले गए। जब तक वे वापस आये तब तक मैं भी बहादराबाद से हरिद्वार पहुँच गया।

वापस आकर आशू कहने लगा कि चल भाई, नीलकंठ चलते हैं। उस समय मौसम ख़राब था और ऋषिकेश की दिशा में भयानक काले बादल भी थे। सोचा कि ऐसी परिस्थिति में चलें या ना चलें, हाँ चल, ना चल, हाँ चल, ना चल। और आखिरकार चल ही पड़े। रात को बारह बजे वहां से वापस आये। नींद तो आ ही रही थी। हर की पैडी क्षेत्र में कहीं किसी पुल पर भी लेटने तक की जगह नहीं मिली। बड़ी मुश्किल से एक पुल पर जरा सी जगह मिल सकी। कांवडिये ही कांवडिये सोये पड़े थे।

60 lakh Kanwariyas fetch holy water from Ganga

The Kanwar yatra in Haridwar is the largest religious pilgrim procession carried out during the auspicious month of Saawan as within just 10 days more than 60 lakh Kanwariyas have fetched holy Ganga water from the city. And now as it enters its second and final phase, i.e. of Dak Kanwar, suddenly the whole atmosphere in the areas where it passes through has changed.   With the commencement of Dak Kanwar (Kanwariyas coming on vehicles at a fast speed having a fixed time of their journey), the whole district seems to be sinking in the fervour as also the fear of speeding vehicles carrying Kanwariyas. The next two days for the administration are surely going be to the toughest ones during their Kanwar duty. Till now they have been managing the inflow of Kanwariyas coming on foot, which is relatively easier in comparison to these speeding Dak Kanwars.   Today, traffic jams were the norm on the highways and city routes.   From Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, Dak Kanwars are pouring in round the clock. Haridwar has donned the orange colour of Lord Shiva.   Dak Kanwariyas tend to break the rules as they have to meet the time deadline. They try to reach Haridwar in the shortest possible time taking shorter routes.   The mela police has already made it clear that vehicles carrying Dak Kanwars will not be allowed to have music or DJ systems, sharp weapons and even hockey sticks and cricket gears on these. Though the mela police deployed at Narsan, the entry point for Uttarakhand from the Uttar Pradesh side, is strictly enforcing this rule, many Dak Kanwar vehicles were spotted playing music at high volume.   Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Gunjiyal said the mela police was strictly ensuring that Dak Kanwars didn’t flout the rules and urged Kanwariyas to cooperate with the police in ensuring a peaceful completion of the Kanwar season.   In charge of the Shankaracharya Chowk stretch, CO, Mussoorie, Shweta Chaubey told The Tribune that the police was strictly dealing with violators of the rules and the result was there for everybody to see with Kanwariyas this year being more disciplined.   Most of the Dak Kanwariyas said they would leave the city by the evening of August 7 as they had to reach before the morning of August 8 their respective places. On Monday, they will have to offer the holy Ganga water at the Shivalayas.

An Unfortunate News of Kanwarias' Accident

Nine kanwarias killed in road accidents 

Dehradun, Aug 6 (IANS) Nine kanwarias, devotees of Lord Shiva, were killed in accidents in Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring Uttarakhand early Friday, police said.

Six kanwarias were killed and 25 injured when a speeding bus hit their tractor-trolley in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district while three were killed when a truck in which they were travelling fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand's Pauri district.

The bus of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) ploughed into the rear portion of the tractor-trolley in the Naangal area, some 350 km from Lucknow.

'The injured kanwarias were admitted to a hospital, where the condition of 10 of them is stated to be critical,' police inspector Nanak Chand told reporters in Bijnor.

'Majority of those killed or injured in the accident are residents of Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district. The devotees were on their way to the holy town of Haridwar,' he added.
In the Uttarakhand accident, 18 people were injured, six critically.

There were 34 people, including the driver, in the truck going from Haridwar to Rishikesh when the accident took place at 7.30 a.m. near Ganga Bhogul village in the district.

Two critically injured people have been referred to a hospital in Dehradun and the rest have been sent to a hospital in Rishikesh.

During the Hindu month of Shravan, thousands of kanwarias walk all the way to Haridwar to collect the water of the Ganga, bring it back home and offer it to their Shiva icons back home.

                                    कांवड़ियों का ट्रक खाई में गिरा,तीन की मौत

ऋषिकेश। ऋषिकेश चीला मार्ग पर कांवड़ियों से भरे एक ट्रक के 40 फीट गहरी खाई में पलटने से तीन कांवड़ियों की मौत हो गई जबकि 31 घायल हो गए। ट्रक में सवार सभी लोग गाजियाबाद जनपद के रहने वाले हैं जो नीलकंठ महादेव मंदिर के दर्शन के लिए जा रहे थे।

ऋषिकेश से करीब दस किलोमीटर दूर गंगा भोगपुर के समीप सुबह करीब साढ़े सात बजे यह दुर्घटना हुई। ग्राम फगोता, कस्बा बिलकपुरा धौलाना, गाजियाबाद से युवकों का एक दल कांवड़ लेकर नीलकंठ दर्शन को आया था। शुक्रवार सुबह ऋषिकेश-चीला मार्ग पर अचानक उनका आयसर ट्रक एचपी 15 एटी 2440 अनियंत्रित होकर करीब 40 फीट गहरी खाई में जा गिरा। ट्रक के खाई में गिरने से उसके नीच दबकर दो कांवड़ियों राबिन पुत्र जयेंद्र सिंह तथा अरुण पुत्र प्रेम पाल सिंह की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई जबकि ओमवीर पुत्र ओमचंद ने चिकित्सालय पहुंचने से पूर्व दम तोड़ दिया। तीनों मृतक ग्राम फगोता बिलकपुरा कस्बा जनपद गाजियाबाद के रहने वाले थे। दुर्घटना के बाद सबसे पहले गंगा भोगपुर के ग्रामीण मौके पर पहुंचे। उन्होंने पुलिस व मोबाइल चिकित्सा सेवा 108 को इसकी सूचना दी और घायलों को बाहर निकालना शुरू किया। मौके पर पहुंची पुलिस ने घायलों को राजकीय चिकित्सालय ऋषिकेश पहुंचाया। ऋषिकेश चिकित्सालय से गंभीर रूप से घायल राहुल, मनोज कुमार, सतपाल, सुभाष व रिंकू को हायर सेंटर के लिए रेफर कर दिया गया। पुलिस के अनुसार प्रथम दृष्ट्या यही बात सामने आई कि चालक को झपकी आ जाने से वह वाहन से नियंत्रण खो बैठा।

                 अब कांवड़ में बना रिकॉर्ड

हरिद्वार। महाकुंभ बीतने के महज तीन महीने बाद उत्तराखंड ने आस्था के रंग में एक नया कीर्तिमान बना लिया है। हर उस अनुमान को भोले के भक्तों की तादाद ने झुठला दिया, जिसकी रिपोर्ट एलआईयू ने शासन, प्रशासन और पुलिस महकमे को दी थी। अस्सी लाख कांवड़ियों के तीर्थनगरी पहुंचने की उम्मीद थी, पर भोले के भक्तों का आंकड़ा एक करोड़ पार कर गया।

प्रदेश सरकार ने पहली बार कांवड़ को नोटिफाइड कर इसे मेले का स्वरूप दिया। शासन की लिस्ट में कांवड़ मेले ने जगह बना ली। कांवड़ से ठीक पहले 2010 की शुरुआत से अप्रैल तक महाकुंभ का आयोजन प्रदेश सरकार ने सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न कराया। सरकार को महाकुंभ में चार से छह करोड़ श्रद्धालुओं के कुंभ में आने का अनुमान था, लेकिन श्रद्धालुओं के सैलाब ने इसे आठ करोड़ तक पहुंचाकर नया रिकॉर्ड बना दिया। महाकुंभ के बाद कांवड़ की दस्तक होनी थी। लिहाजा कांवड़ से ठीक पहले एलआईयू ने शासन, प्रशासन और पुलिस को अस्सी लाख के करीब कांवड़ियों के पहुंचने की रिपोर्ट दी। महाकुंभ की तरह कांवड़ में भी भोले के भक्तों ने श्रद्धा के अब तक के सारे रिकॉर्ड तोड़ दिए। एलआईयू ने ही अब शासन-प्रशासन को यह रिपोर्ट दी है कि एक करोड़ सात लाख से अधिक कांवड़ियें इस बार हरिद्वार पहुंचे। इनमें गंगाजल लेकर 92 लाख की तो वापसी हो चुकी है, तकरीबन पंद्रह लाख और लौट रहे हैं। एलआईयू ने आंकड़ों के पीछे तर्क भी दिया है। बताया गया है कि एक बाइक पर तीन, टाटा सूमो पर छत मिलाकर बीस सवारी, जबकि छोटे ट्रकों पर चालीस से पचास कांवड़िये सवार होकर पहुंचते हैं। इससे इस बार कांवडि़यों का आंकड़ा एक करोड़ को पार कर चुका है।
