Vasuki Tal is one of the many less frequented but charming tourist spots in the state of Uttarakhand, situated at a distance of about 8 kilometers from the religiously significant pilgrimage center of Kedarnath. Standing at an altitude of almost 4135 meters (that is about 14,200 feet) above the sea level, the lake of Vasuki Tal is surrounded by the imposing and magnificent Himalayan mountain ranges and offers a spectacular view of the Chaukhamba peaks nearby.

The best time to visit this delightful spot are the months of June to October, when the weather is mild and pleasant. In the winter months of December and January, the climate is usually too extreme and harsh to make even a short trip to the region.

Vasuki Tal is situated 7 kilometers towards the east from Nandaban. The Nandaban to Vasuki Tal trek route covers a gradual 10 kilometers' ascent. It is a beautiful natural trail hemmed in by glaciers on all sides. Khara Patthar, situated about 7 kilometers eastwards of the Vasuki Tal, is the general camping site in the course of this trek.

Vasuki Tal is situated on the right side of the valley. The crystal clear lake with beautiful natural surroundings offers a charming view to the nature lover and arouses the poet latent in even the most unromantic person. It is fenced in by steep and undulating banks interspersed with lush green vegetation, forming thickets at places.

                   Masar Tal in Uttarakhand

भाद्र मास व गंगा दशहरे के दिन स्थानीय लोग अपने देवी-देवताओं की डोलियां यहां स्नान के लिए लाते है। गंगा दशहरा पर यहां मेला भी आयोजित किया जाता है। यह इस लिए भी महत्वपूर्ण है कि यहां से पांडव सहस्त्रताल होते हुए स्वर्गारोहण गए थे। महासरताल के समीप ही पांडव डोखरी नामक स्थान है, यहां से धर्म गंगा निकलती है।

पुराणों से ज्ञात होता है कि यह नदी धर्मराज की देन है। स्थानीय लोग पांच महीने के लिए अपने मवेशियों के साथ यहां पर छान बनाकर रहते है। सभी खूबियां समेटे यह स्थल प्रचार-प्रसार व सुविधाओं के अभाव में आज भी उपेक्षित है। यदि इस पर्यटक स्थल को विकसित किया जाए तो यहां पर पर्यटन की अपार संभावनाएं है।

देवरिया ताल की इकलौती दुकान जो शानदार घुन परोसती है जिसमें कुछ चावल भी मिले होते हैं

भीमताल से 4-5 किमी की दुरी पर स्थित नौकुचियाताल एक बहुत रमणीक स्थल है. नैनीताल की भीड़भाड़ से बचने वाले पर्यटक अक्सर नौकुचियाताल आकर सुकून के कुछ पल अवश्य गुजारते हैं.
