Baram

Baram is a beautiful hamlet in Pithoragarh District, Uttaranchal, on the banks of the Goshigad, branch of the Goriganga. The Baram Small Hydel Scheme is located on this river. Positioned between Didihat and Dharchula, the two taluk headquarters, Baram is surrounded by cities and villages such as Chhiplakot, Dhamigaon, Mahargari and Askot. Baram is an excellent retreat, away from the chaos of urban life.
An important fair, Kanar Devi fair, vibrant with the colors of Uttaranchal culture, is celebrated here.

Tanakpur Railway Station and Pant Nagar Airport are the nearest access points. Local buses and tourist vehicles connect Baram to other locations

Bedang, a picturesque village, is located in Darma Valley, 18 km from Dantu Pithoragarh District. It is surrounded by dense forests. Bon
Bon is a picturesque village situated 3 km from Dantu in Pithoragarh District. It is said to be the most beautiful village in the Darma Valley. Bon offers a panoramic view of the snow-capped Panchchuli Peaks. The village is covered with lush forests of birch, silver fir, deodar, pine and rhododendrons.
Nearby scenic places are Sobla, Dugtun, Malpa, Nagling and Baling. Trekking and base camps are available here.

Burphu is in Pithoragarh District

A beautiful hamlet, Burphu is in Pithoragarh District of Uttaranchal. It is situated at an altitude of around 20,350 ft above sea level on the banks of the Gori ganga. Prominent attractions in and around Burphu are an artificial forest and the picturesque Gori Ganga valley.
The village commands fascinating views of Nanda Devi Peak, Martoli Peak and Nanda Kot Peak. Some of the nearby tourist attractions are Nanda Devi National Park, Milam and Panchachuli Glacier.

Chaukuna is a small village in Pithoragarh District. It lies on the trekking path to the Namik Glacier and is a camping site for the mountaineers.
Namik village is located 11 km from here. Another village in the vicinity is Runa, 12 km away, which is also a camping site.

Chhiplakot is in Pithoragarh

A scenic village, Chhiplakot is in Pithoragarh District of Uttaranchal. Chhiplakot lies in the heartland of the Kali and Gori rivers, south of the Panchchuli mountains.This region is enchanting with a wide stretch of bugyals or alpine meadows. Dharchula, an important camp along the Kailash-Mansarovar, Chhota Kailash and Narayan Ashram route, is easily accessible from here.

Daranti is a picturesque village situated seven km from Munsiyari, in Pithoragarh District. It lies along the Milam Glacier trek route in the Johar Valley. Gori River flows through it. Daranti nestles among forests of juniper, oak and birch. The place offers enchanting views of the Himalayas all around. Nearby places to visit are Darkot, Maheshwari Kund, Balati Farm, Namik Glacier, Jimi Ghat Waterfalls and Sailapani. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering.
Bhutiyas, people of an Indo-Tibetan tribe, live here. The village shows the culturally rich lifestyle of its inhabitants who steeps in Hinduism. The villagers decorate their houses by drawing aplana (folk ritual painting) designs in rice paste on the floor. Figures of Jyoti Patta (life giving female spirit) and Ganesh are painted on the walls. They are also rich in handicrafts.

Darkot

Darkot is a charming village situated 15 km from Munsiyari in Pithoragarh District. It is located at an elevation of about 1,700 m. The village lies on the Milam Glacier trek route. Gori River flows through it. Darkot nestles among forests of rhododendron, juniper and birch. It offers fascinating views of the Nanda Devi Peak and the deep valleys around. Nearby places to visit are Daranti, Maheshwari Kund, Balati Farm, Namik Glacier, Ralam Glacier and Sailapani. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering.
Bhutiyas, people of an Indo-Tibetan tribe, live in this region. The village houses show the culturally rich lifestyle of their inhabitants.
