U''khand Cong attacks Nishank over fake certificates
 PTI | 10:08 PM,Aug 13,2011 Dehradun, Aug 13 (PTI) Accusing Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank of submitting wrong details related to his educational certificates and date of birth, the main Opposition Congress today demanded a probe by a high-level committee.The Leader of Opposition in the state assembly, Harak Singh Rawat submitted a memorandum to the state Governor Margaret Alva, requesting her to order a high-level probe into the case."Nishank has studied only upto tenth standard. The students of the state should get encouragement from the fact that a high school pass student became the chief minister of the state," he said.Rawat alleged that Nishank while filing his nomination papers in 2007 mentioned his high school passing year as 1977 but there was no dates mentioned in his subsequent educational certificates, including his graduation degree in Shastri from Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, MA degree in Garhwal University.The Chief Minister should also clarify the details of his honorary doctorate degree, Rawat said."There is a sharp contrast in the birth dates of the CM mentioned in his passport, income tax return, and his nomination paper, as it is 15 July, 1959 in the former case while in the latter it is 15th August, 1958," Rawat said, adding that the birth date mentioned in his official website and books is 15th August, 1959.The issue will be also taken up to the Chief Election Commission and would demand for the cancellation of his nomination, Rawat added.

Uttarakhand CM announces four new districts

Dehra Dun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Monday announced the creation of four more districts and plans to enact a law against corruption in the hill state.

 Addressing people after unfurling the tricolour here on the 65th Independence Day, Nishank said his government has decided to create four new districts -- Kotdwar, Yamunotri, Didihat and Ranikhet -- to provide smooth administration to the people living in these areas.

With the new announcement, the total number of districts in Uttarakhand would go up to 17 from the existing 13.

 While Kotdwar would be carved out from Pauri district and Yamunotri from Uttarkashi, Didihat would be created from Pithoragarh and Ranikhet from Almora district.

 Nishank said small administrative units were good in view of development and accessibility by people living in the areas and Uttarakhand was formed with the same purpose in 2000.

 He said his government has also decided to enact a law against corruption in the state and a bill regarding this would shortly be brought in the Vidhan Sabha.

 The Chief Minister also announced to increase the monthly pension of freedom fighters to Rs 11,100 from the existing Rs 6,000. He said Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to give such a big amount as monthly pension to freedom fighters.

 Nishank also announced to provide a health insurance cover under Atal health insurance scheme to all one crore citizens of the hill state.

जंगली मशरूम ने बुझा दिया जगदीश के घर का चिराग

गणेश पाण्डेय, दन्यां: इसे किस्मत का खेल कहें या नियति का क्रूर मजाक। किसी हंसते खेलते परिवार के चार बच्चे अकाल मृत्यु के ग्रास बन गये। उन अभागे माता पिता की करूण कहानी बयां नहीं की जा सकती जिन्होंने तीन दिनों के भीतर बारी बारी से अपने जिगर के चार टुकड़ों को आंखें मूदते स्वयं देखा और लाख चाहने के बाद भी सिर्फ हाथों को मलने के सिवा कुछ नहीं कर पाये।



जंगली मशरूम की सब्जी काल बन कर आयेगी ऐसा किसी ने सपने में भी नहीं सोचा होगा। विकास खंड धौलादेवी से लगे गांव बुग्गीशाला निवासी जगदीश राम के दो पुत्र और दो पुत्रियों की मौत से हर कोई स्तब्ध रह गया है। 4 से 13 वर्ष की उम्र के बच्चों की एक एक कर हुई अकाल मौत से माता पिता अर्ध बेहोशी की हालत में हैं। 16 अगस्त को जंगली मशरूम की सब्जी खाने से जगदीश राम के 6 वर्षीय पुत्र रवि अत्यधिक उल्टियां होने लगी और उसकी मौत हो गई। दूसरे दिन परिवार अन्य 4 बच्चों की हालत भी बिगड़ गई। वह उन्हें बेस चिकित्सालय में ले गया।


 जहां मीरा 13 वर्ष और नितिन साढ़े तीन वर्ष की मौत हो गई। दो पुत्रियां चंद्र कला और दीक्षा बेहोशी की हालत में भर्ती थी। आज दीक्षा 9 वर्ष की भी मौत हो गई जबकि चंद्रकला अब स्वस्थ्य होकर घर वापस आ गई है। परिवार के पांच पाल्यों में से चार के अकस्मात अवसान हो जाने से माता पिता बदहवास हालत में पहुंच गये हैं। एक ही परिवार की इस करूण कहानी सुन कर सभी स्तब्ध हैं।

तिरंगे के साथ वंदेमातरम् के नारों से गूंजा अल्मोड़ा

जागरण कार्यालय, अल्मोड़ा: जनलोकपाल विधेयक को लागू करने की मांग को लेकर अनशन पर बैठे अन्ना हजारे के समर्थन में शनिवार को युवकों ने मोटरसाइकिल रैली निकाली। हाथों में तिरंगा लिए वंदेमातरम्, अन्ना तुम संघर्ष करो, हम तुम्हारे साथ हैं व अन्ना नहीं आंधी है, देश का दूसरा गांधी है, के नारे के साथ गजब का उत्साह व जोश को देखने को मिला।

चौघानपाटा में अन्ना फैंस क्लब का धरना जारी रहा। धरने में महिलाएं, बुजुर्ग, बच्चे व युवा वर्ग शामिल था। पूर्व सैनिक पुनर्वास एवं विकास संस्था ने अन्ना के समर्थन में सड़कों पर उतरने की बात कही। महिला समिति अल्मोड़ा ने भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ लड़ रहे अन्ना के समर्थन में प्रदर्शन किया। महिला कल्याण संस्था ने तयशुदा कार्यक्रम के अनुसार अभियान चलाया।

सोमेश्वर: भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ अन्ना हजारे की मुहिम को खुला समर्थन देते हुए अनेक संगठनों ने जुलूस प्रदर्शन कर प्रधानमंत्री व राष्ट्रपति को ज्ञापन भेजा। जनसंगठनों ने शीघ्र जनलोकपाल बिल पारित करने की मांग की है। राजकीय महाविद्यालय, जीआईसी, जीजीआईसी के छात्रों ने रैली भी निकाली।
