If you go through the pages of History, you will find that various Kings ruled in Hill area of Uttarakhand also. During their empire, they constructed forts in many places. Even during the Mahabarata Period forts were many places.

इस टोपिक में हम उत्तराखंड के विभिन्न भागो में अनेक राजाओ द्वारा पुराने समय में बनाये गए किले में बारे में जानकारी देंगे, जिनके के अवशेष अभी भी कई जगहों पर उपलब्ध है!, जैसे की वाणासुर का किला चम्प्वत में आदि !

पिथोरागढ़ जिले का सिराकोट का किला

सिराकोट किला उत्तराखंड के पिथोरागढ़ जिले में है जो की डीडी से २ किलोमीटर की दूरी पर है ! यह किला रेका राज्य द्वारा बनाया गया था !

Sirakot Fort is situated on a hill top in Pithoragarh District, with fascinating views of the Himalayas  in the backdrop.

Built by the Reka Kings, the outer part of the fort was used as household accommodation while the inner part houses the temples of Shiva and Bhairab. Now the fort is in a state of ruins.

Sirakot Fort is around 2 km from Didihat.

Lalmandi Fort Almora

Lalmandi Fort was constructed in 1563 by Raja Kalyan Chandra. It is located in Almora, Uttaranchal. The fort has been built at such an elevation that one can view the entire Almora town, standing on the fort.

Chaukhutia is located 54 km from Ranikhet, on the Ranikhet-Badrinath  road. Ram Ganga River flows through it. The village derives its name from a Kumaoni word ‘Chakuta’ which means four feet or four ways. Ruins of a fort built by the Katyuri Dynasty and Kali Temple are the main attractions here. The village is also known for its natural beauty and as a fishing center. Nearby attractions include Manila, Jaurasi, Dwarahat, Doonagiri, Naina Devi Temple and Lakhanpur Temple. Nearest airbase is Pant Nagar Airport. The nearest railheads are at Kathgodam  and Ram Nagar.

Askot  Forts - Pithorgarh

The name Askot is originated from Assi Kot (Eighty Forts), many of these forts were in Darchula District of Nepal.
