Samay Methaji,
After along gap I am browsing thru' Merapahad, and lo & behold I fumbled on this
informative thread, stating the blocks in all the 13 districts of Uttarakhand.
But trust my luck, the block in which my village is in Tehri Gharwal district is missing...
The block's name is Thathiyuudh, after this town, just below a Hill station, Dhanaulti,
on the same dandha as Mussoorie, but 30 or some more kms, east.
This block starts on the east bank of the Jamuna river, as on the west bank, we have Jaunsar Bawar region of Dehra Doon.
This is the far western side of the Thathiyuud block and the far eastern side ends at & around Thathiyuud town.
My village Sainji is on the ' Mussoorie Chakarata road ', the first village after the famous,
Kempty Falls.
It just crossed my mind that it is surprising that this road starts at Mussoorie, which a lot of people know is in Dehra Doon district, but what they don't known, is that the road leaves Mussoorie city limits and immediately enters Tehri Garhwal district.
It then reaches the Kempty falls, which is in Tehri Garhwal district, travels to another point, i.e. the Jamuna Pull/bridge on the Jamuna river and then immediately is in the Dehra Doon distict, crosses village Lakhwardh, to Nag Thaath, and onwards to the Army town of Chakarata, all in the Jaunsar Bawar region.
This road starts in Dehra Doon, travels thru' Tehri Garhwal and then back into Dehra Doon.
The road goes into the Jaunpur Rawain region of Tehri Garhwal and ends up in the Jaunsar Bawar region of Dehra Doon.
Wells thats that ...
Regards
Jaunpur Rawain
