Darkot

 

Darkot is a charming village situated 15 km from Munsiyari in Pithoragarh District. It is located at an elevation of about 1,700 m. The village lies on the Milam Glacier trek route. Gori River flows through it. Darkot nestles among forests of rhododendron, juniper and birch. It offers fascinating views of the Nanda Devi Peak and the deep valleys around. Nearby places to visit are Daranti, Maheshwari Kund, Balati Farm, Namik Glacier, Ralam Glacier and Sailapani. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering.
Bhutiyas, people of an Indo-Tibetan tribe, live in this region. The village houses show the culturally rich lifestyle of their inhabitants. The figures of Jyoti Patta (life giving female spirit) and Ganesh are painted on the walls. Special designs are created in rice paste on the floor. The village is also rich in handicrafts.

The nearest airport is Pant Nagar Airport and the nearest railway station is at Kathgodam. Darkot is connected by road to Munsiyari.

Sailapani
 

Sailapani is a picturesque village located 10 km east of Munsiyari in Pithoragarh District. Treks to Milam Glacier and Ralam Glacier begin from this village. It is surounded by dense forest. Sailapani offers enchanting views of lush green hills and deep valleys all around. Jauljibi, Madkot, Thamari Kund, Birthi Falls and Maheshwari Kund are nearby interesting destinations.

Nangarkhan

Nangarkhan is a small town in Almora District, Uttaranchal. It lies near the state highway connecting Majkhali and Panuwanaula. Paudhar, Jalna, Lamgara, Duram, Dhaula Devi, Bhulyura and Bare are some of the places nearby.
Nangarkhan is well connected by road with Almora and is easily accessible from there. Some of the nearby tourist attractions include Govind Vallabh Pant Public Museum, Tripura Sundari Devi Temple, Siddha Narsimha Temple and Deer Park.

Kathgodam Railway Station and Pant Nagar Airport are the nearest access points.

Panuwanaula is a small town in Almora District, Uttaranchal. It lies on the state highway connecting Majkhali and Dhyari. Bordering cities and villages are Manruriya, Bare, Nangarkhan, Bhulyura and Kanari Chhina.
Tripura Sundari Devi Temple, Govind Vallabh Pant Public Museum and Siddha Narsimha Temple are easily accessible from here. Almora is the nearest major town.

The town is easily accessible by local buses and taxies from Almora. Pant Nagar Airport serves this area. Kathgodam Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.

Kanari Chhina

Kanari Chhina lies near Dhaul Chhina in Almora District in Uttaranchal. The state highway connecting Bare and Kanari Chhina passes nearby. Almora is the nearest major town.
The River Sarju flows very close to this village. Some of the other cities and villages nearby are Manruriya, Panuwanaula, Nainl and Bhyulyura.

The nearest railway station is at Kathgodam. Pant Nagar Airport is the nearest airport.

Paudhar is a small town in Almora District of Uttaranchal. It lies near the state highway connecting Lamgara and Kwarab. Bordering cities and villages are Jalna, Kapleshwar, Lamgara, Duram and Nangarkhan. The River Kosi flows close to this village.
Nanda Devi temple and Narsingh Temple are the nearby places of worship. Almora is the nearest major town.

Paudhar is easily accessible by regular bus services

I had been to Darkot once... This is situated in Munsyari-Madkot road. There is small and nice Mandir near the road.
