     In Uttarakhand, Bamshah sent Hastidal with army to Shrinagar and there in Nepal Court decided extention of the Nepal Kingdom . Court deputed Amar Singh Thapa with 3000 gunmen army to Shrinagar. Thapa had around 3000 casual soldiers too. His troop reached to Shrinagar Court ordered that Hastidal had to work as deputy of Amar Singh Thapa and Randhi Singh Basnet would work under Hastidal. .
  Gorkha did not establish army camp in Shrinagar. Thapa got information that Pradymna Shah started flanking on Doon valley. Ama Singh Thapa reached to Dehradun with Dalmukh Singh and Randhir Basnet . Gorkha army pushed back Pradyumna army towards Saharanpur from Mohanghate. By that time, Pradyumna shifted his family in territory of Rav bahadur Singh .

          For defending Gorkha in Doon valley, exiled King Pradyumna Shah took help of Heri or Hedis soldiers. However, relation with Heri /Hedi community became painful for exiled King Pradyumna. Heris /Hedis started stealing , looting goods from King an his family camps. Heris started taking Garhwali boys and girls and started selling them in Slave buying Bazar. Heris also snatched many prostitutes or Ganika of Pradyumna Shah and sold in bazar . Pradyumna Shah was helpless before those Heri soldiers. (Garhrajvanshakavya page 67, Dabral)

       Pradyumna Shah left his family in Haridwar and went to Saharanpur region . There, he sold or mortgaged his jewels and ornaments of Badrinath temple and with the help of Ramdayal Singh the Gujjar  king  he organized army of 12000 free lancing soldiers . Pradyumna attacked on Doon valley and captured a part of Dehradun valley.
   Getting information, Gorkha army led by Amar Singh Thapa reached to Dehradun. Thapa army surrounded Pradyumna army from two sides (Upadhyaya).  Pradyumna army was marching from Dhamagarhi towards Nalapani. Both the armies headed on Khurbura field on first week of February 1804. There was fierce battle between the two armies. It is said that Parakrama, Pritam Shah (both bothers of King) and sons – Sudarshan Shah and Devi Singh were there in battle. (Frazer) . Pradyumna Shah was leading the army in battle field. He tagged Shaligram  stone on one hand and Geeta on other  hand . Pradyumna got a gun fire while he was discussing with assistant Ranjit Kunwar (Maularam) . Pradyumna fell down by chest towards  ground .
  There is debate on exact date of battle and martyr of Pradyumna Shah  (Dabral) .
    The free lancing soldiers ran away from the war field after falling of Pradyumna Shah . Parakrama Shah ran away from battle field. Sudarshan Shah and Devi Singh ran towards Kankhal.
    Gorkha commander killed Dalbir Rana a Gorkrha commander that was assisting Pradyumna Shah.

     On those days, Kankhal, Jwalapur, Haridwar was under East India Company.  Just opposite of Kankhal crossing Ganga River was Chandigahat was too under East India Company. In past, Chandighat was part of Garhwal and Nazibuddin captured it from Garhwal Kingdom.  Sudarshan Shah was staying in Kankhal. Sudarshan Shah started contacting people from Dhangu and Udaipur (Salan) . The Garhwali officers or Kamin Jamindar started assisting , helping Gorkha officers but the citizens were still devote to Bolda Badrinath or Garhwal King. Gorkha officers used to torture the Kamin and Jagirdar or Sayana too. Many Kamin escaped from Garhwal and took shelter in British  occupied land.  According to Tehri Kingdom Court record  register (no 4, page 6), Dhangu Kamin escaped from Dhangu to Laldhang . Dhangu Kamin or jagirdar belonged Sal Butola family.A s per Bhakta Darshan , Dhangu Kamin might have contacted Sudarshan Shah in Kankhal . The folk stories of Dhangu state that Garhwalis especially Dhangu, Ajmer ,  Udaipur pattis and Laldhang hill region  used to supply food and other needed  articles to Sudarshan Shah and his family members. Life of Sudarshan Shah in danger in Haridwar

   Sudarshan Shah lived in Haridwar for 12 years in exile. He was not only facing financial problems but he had fear of Gorkha capturing him as they captured Pritam Shah in Haridwar and put in jail.
 Shiv Prasad Dabral states the story of a unknown (?) army surrounding Sudarshan Shah in February 1811. Dabral offered the reference of Dharmapatra given by Sudarshan Shah to his cook Hiramani . An army surrounded Sudarshan Shah in Bhakhuwala . He had his cook Hiramani and a couple of servants with him .He saved his life by fight with those soldiers. Sudarshan Shah did not mention the name of army. However, it was sure that that army must be of Gorkha court as that was his only enemy in Haridwar region. Since, Sudarshan Shah mentioned fauj , that mean it was not looting party.
