Few Identity factors in Brahmins are
1. Gotra: Denotes the progeny (of a sage) beginning with the son's son. e.g.: Bhardwaj, Angiras, Kaushik etc.
2. Pravar: Denotes no. of renowned sages in root. Usely TriPrawar and PanchPrawar
3. Ved: One of ved, of which person's ancestors are master. e.g. Rigved, Samved, Yadjurved
4. Sakha: A Section in Ved in which person's lineage has excellance. e.g Mandhandini. etc.

Sakha of Kshatriyas is "Khadak Vidhya"

I think its the wastage of time ,rather then doing such things we have to  turn our thoughts towards development of our culture and language which is going to be disappeared in the coming few years.
