The religious ritual animal sacrifice is common all over world and in Garhwal as well.  Dharma Nand Uniyal shows worries on animal sacrifices in religious rituals for so called benefits to human beings in ‘Jaunl Bagi’ story.  Vikram got appointment in army. The war starts.Subhaga the mother of Vikram takes oath about no loss to Vikram and she will sacrifice a pair of buffalos to deities.  She bought two buffalos Bhura and Kalu. At the time of ritual Bhura and Kalu revolt against human beings and jumped into Ganges.
The story narration is in two parts-the narration about human activities and dialogues among human and narration about feeling of buffalos and dialogues between two buffalos.
Uniyal is successful in characterization of main characters Subhaga and two buffalos- Bhura and Kalu. Uniyal narrates well in narrating the ritual atmosphere in the village. His narration creates perfect images.
The language of story ‘Jaunl Bagi’ is in Tiryali dialects.

Bwari nai jamana ki: Story depicting of social changes and human behavior transformation

Critical Review of Modern Garhwali Stories -110
(Critical Review of Modern Garhwali Stories written by Balendu Badola - 1)
Let Us Celebrate Hundredth Year of Modern Garhwali   Stories
                              Review by:  Bhishma Kukreti
[Notes on Story depicting of social changes and human behavior transformation; Garhwali Story depicting of social changes and human behavior transformation; Mid Himalayan Story depicting of social changes and human behavior transformation; Himalayan Story depicting of social changes and human behavior transformation; North Indian  Story depicting of social changes and human behavior transformation; Indian Story depicting of social changes and human behavior transformation; South Asian Story depicting of social changes and human behavior transformation; Asian Story depicting of social changes and human behavior transformation; Oriental Story depicting of social changes and human behavior transformation]
Technology is changing fast and changes in human behavior or social changes are occurring dramatically. In every era there are changes in human behavior of society.  In every era there are new social norms. These new social norms are nothing but the result of changes in human behavior due to technical innovations or new types of education. Due to many factors, the family relationship norms are also changing in the society.
The social change is evident in generation gap between old generation and new generation. There are apparent differences between the values of old generation and social values of new generation. The Garhwali Story ‘Bwari nai Jamana ki’ (Hilans, April, 1984) by famous Garhwali fiction writer Balendu Badola depicts the social changes, human behavior transformations and gaps of values between old and new generations.
Reethu is in working in the city. In village, his mother is worried that Reethu did not post the letter for many months.  Reethu’s mother discusses the subject of not receiving letter from her son to everybody. Everybody shows sympathy before her but on the back everybody laughs at her and her behavior.  One day her daughter in law who is high school passed woman shows and reads her a postcard and says that this is Reethu’s letter.  In letter, Reethu asks his mother for extreme caring for his wife and not to bother his wife by any means. The letter content is against the nature of Reethu. Reethu’s mother has doubt that the post card does not have post office stamp. In night, Reethu’s mother comes to know the real secret of non post office stamps on postcard and also comes to the conspiracy.
Balendu Badola is successful in showing the social changes and value changes in the new generation. There is total value transformation in new generation.
Badola effectively shows the worries of a mother for not receiving timely letters from her migrated son. Badola uses the Cahundkoti regional language dialects. He changed various Hindi words into Garhwali or ‘Hindi ka Garhwalikaran’. The narration style is simple and there are fewer dialogues in the story.

Byakhanyau Bhulyun:  Story of Human Struggles of a Neglected old Mother
Critical Review of Modern Garhwali Stories -111
(Critical Review of Modern Garhwali Stories written by Jabar Singh Kaintura - 3)
Let Us Celebrate Hundredth Year of Modern Garhwali   Stories
                              Review by:  Bhishma Kukreti
[Notes on Story of Human Struggles of a Neglected old Mother; Garhwali Story of Human Struggles of a Neglected old Mother; Uttarakhandi Story of Human Struggles of a Neglected old Mother; Mid Himalayan Story of Human Struggles of a Neglected old Mother; Himalayan Story of Human Struggles of a Neglected old Mother; North Indian Story of Human Struggles of a Neglected old Mother; Indian Story of Human Struggles of a Neglected old Mother; South Asian Story of Human Struggles of a Neglected old Mother; Asian Story of Human Struggles of a Neglected old Mother; Oriental Story of Human Struggles of a Neglected old Mother]
Jabar Singh Kaintura (Ringoli, Lotsu, Tihri Garhwal, 1956) is one of most important signatures of Garhwali fiction world. Jabar Singh Kaintura, Kusum Nautiyal, Balendu Badola, Bhishma Kukreti, Mohan Lal Dhoundiyal brought freshness and new style to modern Garhwali fiction in eighties and nineties.
‘Byakhanyau Bhulyun’ (Hilans, Jan-Feb 1988) is one of the fine stories by Jabar Singh Kaintura. The story is about the only son neglecting his mother. The story depicts that when the son and his wife or new generation ignore, disregard, overlook, mistreat or neglect their old generation as old mother the old mother struggles physically and psychologically. Human being can sustain physical burden of old age but it is difficult to bear the psychological pain as the only son ignoring or neglecting his old age mother.
In This story ‘Byakhanyau Bhulyun’, Kaintura focused only one point to show the pain of a neglected old mother. An old mother is separated from his son and his wife. The mother is ready with dough to cook Roti(brad) and the neglected old mother is waiting for ‘Shikar’ (Meat curry) from his son. However when son brings the meet container it is too late.
Kaintura effectively describes the past and connect the past with future through flash back style. Kaintura is effective in attracting the attention of readers on the issue of physical struggle, human struggle and psychological struggle of a neglected old mother by his son and his wife. Surprisingly the story is stick to present but the wise narration style of story writer creates as if the events were changing. Jabar Singh could depict marvelously the meanness of young daughter in law abusing old generation or her mother in law. The readers enjoy the story of struggle by a neglected mother and become conscious about the consequences of new generation neglecting old generation. The dialects are of Lotsu region of Tihri Garhwal.

There are various types of exploitation and oppression of poor by rich and upper class- economical exploitation (organizational exploitation and structural exploitation); slavery or labor exploitation; *ual exploitation; human trafficking as exploiting medium; child labor exploitation; consumer exploitations. Exploitation is emotional exploitation.
There are many types of oppressions as *ism oppression; cisgenderism oppression; classism oppression; racism oppression; colourism oppression; abelism oppression; L ookism oppression; nativism oppression; colonialism oppression; social oppression; (Tom Head in About.com); skill oppression; investment oppression etc.
One of the great story Garhwali writers Kali Prasad Ghildiyal wrote stories on various subjects. A Garhwali story Khatti Chhanch (Hilans, December, 1985) by Ghildiyal is about rich and upper class exploiting and oppressing poor class. Bhola is a poor farmer and is very simple person. Pundit Lakshmi Dhar is rich from material and class point of view. In the hope of getting lavish food from Lakshmi Dhar, Bhola leaves his farming works and takes farm works of Lakshmi Dhar. After hard laborious work poor Bhola does not get Poori Prasad but rotten butter milk.
Kali Prasad successfully shows the economical and exploitation and emotion exploitation. The story depicts the oppression methodology by rich and upper class too.
Kali Prasad Ghildiyal creates memorable character by his effective characterization method. The narration style is simple and attractive.

Mauni: Story of Dreams of a Poor but Courageous Mother in memoir form
Critical Review of Modern Garhwali Stories to be continued…113
(Critical Review of Modern Garhwali Stories written by Virendra Datt Dangwal -1)
Let Us Celebrate Hundredth Year of Modern Garhwali Fictions!
                                       Review by Bhishma Kukreti
[Notes on Story of Dreams of a Poor but Courageous Mother; Garhwali Story of Dreams of a Poor but Courageous Mother; Uttarakhandi Story of Dreams of a Poor but Courageous Mother; Mid Himalayan Story of Dreams of a Poor but Courageous Mother; Himalayan Story of Dreams of a Poor but Courageous Mother; North Indian Story of Dreams of a Poor but Courageous Mother; Indian Story of Dreams of a Poor but Courageous Mother; Indian subcontinent Story of Dreams of a Poor but Courageous Mother; Asian Story of Dreams of a Poor but Courageous Mother; Oriental Story of Dreams of a Poor but Courageous Mother]
There are many stories about dreams of a mother about her son and mother’s sacrifice. Virendra Dangwal presents dreams of a poor mother and her sacrifice in a pictographic form ‘Mauni’ (Hilans, March, 1988). The story is a poor mother’s son wants to get higher studies. Since her husband is not alive it is difficult for mother to arrange fees, books for her son’s study.  There was an alternate that son Mauni takes job in city. However, the courageous mother takes another courageous root and Mauni goes to college for higher studies.
The story is in memoir, rebus or pictographic form. The story goes smooth and readers make the required image as the writer wanted. The writer provides real names of school, college and region for readers attaching with the story.
