                                 Cooperation from Kumaonis    
                           Kumaonis started cooperating with British before the war began. Kumaon people were ready to help British by all means for freeing them from Gurkha/Nepalese rule. Harsh Dev Joshi helped British in getting Kumaonis cooperation. Kumaonis became road guides for British army. British army paid attention in luring Kumaoni Brahmins as they were influential in getting support from the people.
  When British army reached to Katarmal and Nepalese soldiers ran away from Kumpur, By March 1815, 300  Kumaoni soldiers left from Nepalese army and returned to their respective villages.
  Bamshah had around 1000 Nepalese soldiers for defending Almora city
              British army Surrounding Almora City    
              By capturing Katarmal, W.L Gardner cut the west Almora communication line of Nepalese army.  Gardner surrounded Almora city and waited for regular Army led by Nicolas reached to Almora. Nearby Kumaonis from villages started helping British army with enthusiasm. Spy and ex soldiers reported that there was shortage of food in Nepalese army camp in Almora. Bam Shah ordered non army personnel for vacating Almora city.
  Governor General appreciated the deeds of Lieutenant Colonel Gardner.

कविता मेरी सरा टका, पर टक लगावा सुणणा  मा
काम काज थैं बिसरि जावा , टक्क लगवा बिंगणा मा।
बड़ा फर्क च ये टका को , सुणणा अर समझणा मा
 कन कनू की मौ चली गे , ये टका तै खूणा मा।
देवी दिवता मनदा छन विकट शक्ति ये टक्का की
तब्बि   भक्तगण पूजा करदीें भेंट चडाँदीं टक्का की।
सुण ल्या दगड्यों टका छीं मीमा सब्जी मंडी मीन जाण
फूल फल व रस कस भुज्जी सभी खरीदीs मीन लाण।
टक्का जु कीसा खाली च , टक बथेंदी खाणा की
टक्का  बिना रोज मिताई टक बजार घुमणा की। 
चीज खरीदी कुछ नी सकणो , टक प्वड़ी च  दिखणा की
तनखा मिलदा टक्का रंदीना तल्या  मल्या कीसा मा।
मैना आखरी टपरान्दू रैंदु , टका नि मिल्दा कीसा मा
टका छैंद मि टकटकु रैंदु , बिना टका कु चिंता मा।
टका बगैर खर्च नि चल्दु , पगाळ गडणैं   सुद बुद मा
बड़ी शक्ति च ये टका मा , चै छ्वटु च दिखणा मा
मनखी तैं कुमनखी बणान्दा ये टका ही दुनिया मा

एक बुड्या लड़खड़ान्दु अड्डा भितर आंदो। दारु औडर दींदु।  फिर अड्डा पर इना उनां  नजर घुमान्दु तो वैकि नजर तीन हट्टा कट्ठा नौजवानों पर पड़दि।
वु एक नौजवान तैं मुखातिब ह्वेक बुल्दो - देख बै तेरी दादी का हाथ पकड़िक मीन वीं तै रिंगाई अरे रिंगण मा  अबि बि तेरी दादी सोळा साल की लग्दी हाँ !
नवजवान का द्वी दोस्त डरी गेन ये गुस्सैल दगड्यान अब ये आदिमक गुदल जरूर फोड़न।  पर गुस्सैल नवजवान चुपी राई , वैन कुछ नि ब्वाल।
 वै आदिमन वै नवजवान से  मुखातिब ह्वेका फिर से ब्वाल - मीन आज तेरी दादीक दगड़ डांस कार।  डांस मा वा छमिया बादण से कम नी च हाँ। नवजवान अब बि चुप छौ।
वै आदिमन वै नवजवान से  मुखातिब ह्वेका फिर से ब्वाल - आज मीन तेरी दादी का चुम्मा ले अर वींन बि मेरी भुक्कि पे।
नवजवान का दगड्या हौर डौर गेन कि अब नौजवानन वै आदिमक खैर नी च।
नौजवानन शांत ह्वेका ब्वाल - दादा जी आप सीधा घौर जावो।  देर से ग्यायि तो वैदिनक तरां दादिन तुम तैं तमाखु कुठडि भीतर ग्वाड़ी दीण।

  British strategists instructed Hearsay for capturing ‘Timla Ghat’ on the north of Pilibhit , heading to Kali River valley and destroying Jhula (rope bridges ) on the river. By destroying rope bridges on Kali River would make difficulties for Hasti Dal army crossing Kali River and entering into Kumaon.  However, in early February 1815, a few prisoners of Bareli Jail attacked on jail guards.  Prisoners took away weapons and freed other prisoners too. By night, after capturing weapons, the prisoners were busy in fighting with guards sent by British command. Later on prisoners escaped by leaping jail walls.  That was the reason that Hearsay had to delay his campaign.  The army company of Shahjhanpur that was supposed to company with Hearsay was kept for while for administrating in the locality. Therefore, army company of Shahjahanpur could not report to Hearsay as per schedule. British commander instructed Hearsay for appoing new 300 irregular Rohila soldiers.
 The resposnibilty of Hearsay was to defend the Ghats of Kali River spreading 43 Kos. Hearsay had to defend Ghat of Kali River. However, Hearsay was in hurry to win over Gurkha that he could get Jagir in Dehradun. When on 13th February 1815, Hearsay reached to Bilhari of Pilibhit his 150 soldiers out of 1500 soldiers could not march. Those soldiers were kept at some strategic places as under –
 10 Soldiers in Pilibhit for defending Kamsariyat
50 Soldiers in Shahjhanpur for protecting Jail
16 Soldiers in Fatehgarh  for protection of battle articles
5 Soldiers in Bareli for appointing new soldiers
5 Soldiers in Bareli  for protecting soldiers and dresses etc
50 Soldiers in  Balihari for protection of Depot
12 ill Soldiers in Balihari 
 Before, Hearsay reached Balihari, Gurkha soldiers ran away from Balihari. Hearsay established his camp in Balihari. Hearsay instructed his Gun powder making workers for producing gun powder, On 13th Gardner also captured Chilkiya Ghat. Gurkha soldiers put poison in wells before leaving Bilhari. By taking poisonous water 78 soldiers of Hearsay fell ill.

जु मीम समय हूंद तो मि अपण बेड की सफाई करदो , बेड पर पेंट करदो , गद्दों पर बस्यां  कीड़ों,  संगुळऊं, धूळ की सफाई करदु।  पता नी बेड तैं झड्यां कथगा साल ह्वे गेन धौं  !
 जु मीम समय हूंद तो मि वार्डरोब की सफाई करदु अर उख पुटुक पड्यां पुरण कपड़ों इस्तेमाल करदु।  पता नि वार्डरोब पुटुक कथगा कामका कपड़ा छन पड्यां , जोँ तै मि भूलि ही ग्यों  धौं ! 
 जु मीम टैम  हूंद तो मि अपण बैडरूम की सफाई करदु।  इख बैडरूम मा कीडों की बीस पच्चीस जाती बीस पच्चीस साल से म्यार पार्टनर तो होल ही धौं !
जु मीम समय हूंद तो  मकानs समिण पड़ी जमीन मा कुछ बूँदों कुछ ना सै कचरा घर बणी जगा सग्वड़ तो बुले जांदो धौं !
 जु मीम समय हूंद तो मि मॉल जांदो अर सस्तो मा कुछ ना कुछ त लांदो अब वा चीज चाहे ड्यारम बेकार ही पड़ीं रौंद धौं !
जु मीम समय हूंद तो मी अपण छत की पेंटिंग ही कर लींदो।  कुछ ना सै छत कोढ़ी जन बदरंग हूण से तो बच जांदो धौं !
जु मीम समय हूंद तो मि कोटद्वारा कुकरेती सम्मेलन मा शरीक ह्वे जांदो।  कुछ ना सै कुकरेती लोग तो मि तै 'पारितोषिक ' या क्वी उपाधि दींदा धौं !
जु मीम समय हूंद तो मि डा राजेश्वर उनियालौ तरां भाजपा नेताओं की खुशामद करदु।   राष्टपति पुरुष्कार ही ना सै , मुख्य्मंत्री पुरुष्कार ना सै किन्तु  कुछ पुरुष्कार तो पै लींदो।
 जु मीम समय हूंद तो मि देर रात तक टीवी शो दिखदु धौं। 
जु मीम समय हूंद तो मि घौर पहाड़ जांदू अर उख उजड़्यां कूड़ों फोटो , उजड़्यां उर्ख्यलुँ फोटो , उजड़्यां घटूँ  फोटो फेसबुक मा अपलोड करदो अर फिर लिख्दु -पलायन की मार से गढ़वाली संस्कृति  खात्मा !
जु मीम समय हूंद तो मि मुंबई मा उक्रांदल का वास्ता से चंदा तो कट्ठा करदु।  लोग मि तै पीठ पैंथर भले ही गाळि दींदा  समिण पर बलबीर रावत जी , सुधीर थपलियाल जी जन मेरी प्रशंसा तो करदा !
जु मीम समय हूंद तो मि यु तो सुचदो कि मीम हौर लोगुं तरां टैम अर पैसा किलै नी च कि मि बि एक 'पुस्तक ' प्रकाशन  कौर सकों !
