This Grand dame from Mana village is making the best of the summer sun weaving carpets. The entire village vacates to another dwelling place in Chamoli for the winter.

This picture is from Mana, the last Indian village before the great wall of the himalayas between India and Tibet. People in this village are ethnic Tibetans, relics of the centuries old trade which discontinued with the Sino-Indian war of 1962.
The old lady is taking care of her grandchild while her daughter in law weaves carpets for sale.
