Hockey seems to be losing the glory it once enjoyed in India. To promote
the cause of Hockey, Abhi foundation in collaboration with Shelter Don Bosco organized a Hockey Carnival called 'Enthusia Cup' at VJTI, Matunga which was sponsored by United Phosporus and Kuoni.

The Boys of Shelter Don Bosco took active part and looked after the
logistics and organization of the event which helped them to a large extent
learning about event management skills. The boys also entertained the players and the spectators through their dances and cheering throughout the tournament. This meant a lot of hard work and which earned them many accolades.

The celebration began on the final day when a host of stars and celebrities
descended on the rink amidst a lot of fanfare, dances by professionals and fire works. Mr. Mir Ranjan Negi the founder of Abhi foundation welcomed celebrities including Suniel Shetty, Raza Murad, Dhanraj Pillay, Vinod Kambli, Mahi Gill, Chitrashi Rawat, Madhuri Pandey, Sunil Pal, Jai Bhanushali and Mahi Vij Singer Arvinder Singh and K.Shailendra etc. There was an exhibition match between the former Men Internationals led by Anil Aldrin and former Women Internationals Suraj Lata. There was a full house to show their solidarity in promoting Hockey in Mumbai.

The final match in men's section was played between Rizvi and Khalsa,
which was won by Rizvi. In the women's the final was played between Khalsa and M.M.K, which was won by M.M.K College.

The event was successful because of the hard work of VJTI students,
Shelter boys and Abhi Foundation.

जागरण संवाददाता, ऋषिकेश: प्रसिद्ध हॉकी खिलाडी व कोच मीर रंजन नेगी ने स्कूली बच्चों को अच्छा खिलाड़ी बनने के टिप्स दिए।

दून भवानी इंटरनेशनल स्कूल घम्मूवाला रानीपोखरी पहुंचने पर हॉकी के राष्ट्रीय कोच रहे मीर रंजन नेगी का विद्यालय परिवार व छात्रों ने भव्य स्वागत किया। छात्रों ने उनके स्वागत में सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत कर समां बांधा। बच्चों को संबोधित करते हुए मीर रंजन ने कहा कि जीवन में शिक्षा के साथ अनुशासन, लगन और नियमित अभ्यास आवश्यक है। प्रतिभा के लिए कोई दायरा नहीं होता। वह कहीं भी उभर सकती है। उन्होंने कहा कि ग्रामीण परिवेश में पले-बढ़े कई खिलाड़ियों ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर भारत का नाम रोशन किया है। मिल्खा सिंह, मेजर ध्यानचंद, बछेंद्री पाल, पहलवान सुशील कुमार, मैरीकॉम यह ऐसे तमाम शख्स हैं, जिन्होंने देहात में रहकर प्रतिभा को निखारा और अंतरराष्ट्रीय पटल में अपनी उपस्थिति दर्ज कराई। उन्होंने बच्चों से आह्वान किया कि जीवन के हर क्षेत्र में वह खेल भावना का परिचय देंगे तो, उनकी तरक्की का मार्ग प्रशस्त होगा। विद्यालय की प्रधानाचार्य श्रीमती पुष्पा उनियाल ने उन्हें विद्यालय की ओर से स्मृति चिन्ह भेंट किया। http://www.jagran.com/uttarakhand/dehradun-city-10866547.html
