The Valley of Flowers National Park in Garhwal in Uttarakhand. Its altitude ranges from 3200 m to 6675m.Such a variation in altitude provides a great diversity of landscape and microhabitats.
Spread over 87.50 sq km, the VOF has a total of 521 species of vascular plants of 72 families. There are 472 herbs, 41 shrubs and only 8 type of trees.
A trek of 14 km from Gobindgath to Ghangharia and a further trek of 6 km takes one to this beautiful place called the Valley of Flowers, designated a Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Perinnial with densely leafy stem 15-35cm.Leaves mostly oblong-lanceolate,narrowed to base,distantly toothed,mostly shrivelled at flowering.Flowe-heads solitary, to 8 cm across.
Grows at altitude :3000-4200 m
Months: July-August
