Dear Friends,

its great to join this for forum...  :D

Being born and brought up in Mumbai, i have seen that gujjus, tamilians, malyalis, maharashtrians so very loyal to their languages and customs, traditions and culture, but tell me how many of us speak to our children in kumauni/gadwali...i am ashamed of myself that i cannot speak my language...though after marriage i have settled in Haldwani, here also i find people nt very aware of their culture...take the case of Holi..wn i got married 6 yrs back...holi was so much fun...women and men singing songs on streets and this time it was totally thanda...it got over by 10 am and people just slept thru the day...no male-milaap etc...

people even do not make gujias, chips etc at home...me included :(

thats why i have joined almost all the big forums affiliated to UK on the net so that atleast i can be in touch with people and learn more abt our culture...
