 Madamaheswar Shiva
shrine of Madamaheswar Shiva is situated at an altitude of 3289 metres at the foot of the great Himalayan peak CHOWKHAMBA in the state of Uttarakhand, India. The temple of Madamaheswar remains closed in the winter when the roads are blocked by snow. At that time the replica of the Lord Madamaheswar is brought down to the town of UKHIMATH for daily worshiping. At the advent of summer, the replica is brought back here with much fanfare & procession, which is called DULIYATRA ( Journey by palanquin).

Koteshwar Temple is situated on the holy bank of river Alaknanda at a distance of 3 kms. from the heart of Rudraprayag. The Koteshwar temple is in the form of a cave temple. There are many idols which have been formed naturally. It is said that Lord Shiva did meditation here before going to the Kedernath . A great fair is held here in months of August and September and thousands of devotees of Lord Shiva come here to worship him.
