Nachiketa Tal

Located amid a lush green forest, Nachiketa Tal is a lake famous for its tranquil and clear water. The lake can be reached by a three kilometer trek from Chaurangi-Khal. It is believed that Nachiketa, the devout son of Sage Uddalok had created this lake. A small temple is situated on the banks of the lake.

SAHASTRA TAL TREK

गिरीताल

काशीपुर शहर से रामनगर की ओर तीन किलोमीटर चलने के बाद दाहिनी ओर एक ताल है, जिसके निकट चामुण्डा का भव्य मन्दिर है। इस ताल को गिरिताल के नाम से जाना जाता है। धार्मिक दृष्टि से इस ताल की विशेष महत्ता है, प्रत्येक पर्व पर यहाँ दूर-दूर से यात्री आते हैं। इस ताल से लगा हुआ शिव मन्दिर तथा संतोषी माता का मन्दिर है जिसकी बहुत मान्यता है। काशीपुर में नागनाथ मन्दिर, मनसा देवी का मन्दिर भी धार्मिक दृष्टि से आए हुए यात्री का दिल मोह लेते हैं।

मालवा ताल-

यह ताल नैनीताल जनपद के चाफी क्षेत्र में स्थित है, 'स्कन्द पुराण' के मानस खण्ड में एक समय अत्रि, पुस्त्य और पुलह नाम के ॠषि गर्गाचल की ओर जा रहे थे। मार्ग में उन्हे यह स्थान मिला। इस स्थान की रमणीयता मे वे मुग्ध हो गये परन्तु पानी के अभाव से उनका वहाँ टिकना (रुकना) और करना कठीन हो गया। परन्तु तीनों ॠथियों ने अपने - अपने त्रिशुलों से मानसरोवर का स्मरण कर धरती को खोदा। उनके इस प्रयास से तीन स्थानों पर जल धरती से फूट पड़ और यहाँ पर 'ताल' का निर्माण हो गया। इसिलिए कुछ विद्वान इस ताल को 'त्रिॠषि सरोवर' के नाम से पुकारा जाना श्रेयस्कर समझते हैं।

इन तीन ॠषियों ने तीन स्थानों पर अलग - अलग तालों का निर्माण किया था। नैनीताल, खुरपाताल और चाफी का मालवा ताल ही वे तीन ताल थे जिन्हे 'त्रिॠषि सरोवर' होने का गौरव प्राप्त है।
