Dear Friends,
The BCCI has denied affiliation to Uttarakhand. The BCCI recently hosted its annual general meeting in Mumbai and decided to grant affiliation to Nagaland, Meghalaya and Arunachal.
But, on Uttarakhand they claimed that as four sports associations have applied for sponsorship, so the Board can not grant affiliation. The BCCI Working Committee will now take a final decision on the affiliation issue to Uttarakhand State.
By referring the case to the Working Committee, the BCCI is deliberately delaying the issue. It is my request to you to send compliant to the BCCI by email to create some pressure on the issue. Otherwise, the BCCI will linger the affiliation to Uttarakhand further.
Please send your complaint to: info@bcci.tv
A sample of the complaint is below. You can even email question- Why Uttarakhand has been denied BCCI affiliation? - At questions@bcci.tv
Regards,
Raju Gusain

Grant immediate affiliation to Uttarakhand
Sir,
The issue of granting affiliation to Uttarakhand figured in your recently concluded AGM in Mumbai. It was decided that the Working Committee of the BCCI will take a final decision soon. Despite passing of over one month, the BCCI has not taken any decision on it so fat. It is our request to take immediate action in it so that players from Uttarakhand can play in the national level championship.

From Ram Verma

Dear Sir,
It is really disheartening to know as hard core Cricket fan that BCCI is delaying or denying the affiliation for Cricket to Uttarakhand.
When BCCI is trying to sponsor other sports,Why being such a profit making organisation ... it is still restricted to few states. Where in India Cricket is taken as a religion...Why their is still step motherly or racism treatment to few state as Uttarakhand....
I see no parameter to deny or delay affiliation to Uttarakhand in comparison to Meghalaya , Nagaland...
I would request BCCI decision maker to please not deny affiliation to Uttaranchal...as you never know that many talent will get wasted due to your biased decision.
We as citizen of India would like to know the genuine reason and the decision on above subject.

Regards,
Ram Verma

Sir,

We the people of Uttarakhand and India are shocked to hear that BCCI in its Annual General Meeting despite granting affiliation to Uttarakhand, have referred the matter to the Working Committee thus deliberately delayed the process of nurturing the young and upcoming cricketers of the state.
I think, BCCI is unaware of the fact that due to non-affiliation to Uttarakhand, number of present national and international cricketers as follows are representing other states/associations:-

Mahinder Singh Dhoni, Captain of Indian ODI and Test Capital, who originally hails from Almora
Punit Bisht, Delhi wicket Keeper
Mahesh Rawat, Wicket Keeper for Railway & Rajasthan IPL Team
N.S. Negi, Delhi Ranji Player
Kuldip Rawat, Delhi Ranjit Player
Naveen Negi, Rajasthan Ranji Team Wicket Keeper.
Apart from the above recognized players of repute, there are several others talented players in waiting who are playing for different clubs/academies and eager to play for Uttarakhand Team. One side where ICC is promoting cricket in East Asian, Africa and North America, BCCI in India is discriminating in just granting affiliations to the full fledged states in India , really shocking.
Already, BCCI is facing grave discontentment due to non-recognition to ICL, hence BCCI should without further delay grant affiliation to Uttarakhand to stop the players from the state to follow the ICL route.

Warm regards.

Information Commission summons BCCI on U’khand affiliation issue

Dehradun, 23 May: The Maharashtra State Information Commission has summoned the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) for not providing information on the issue of affiliation to Uttarakhand to an applicant. The Maharashtra State Information Commission has asked the Board to submit the information on 1 June.

Seeking information under the RTI Act, Raju, a native of Dehradun filed an application to BCCI on 30 March, 2009. The applicant failed to get any communication from the Board even after 30 days had passed. On 4 May 2008, Raju filed a complaint with the Maharashtra State Information Commission over the BCCI’s behaviour.

Incidentally, in September last year, the BCCI granted affiliated membership to Meghalaya, Nagaland and Arunachal. It also provided associate membership to the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association and Bihar Cricket Association at the BCCI's AGM held in Mumbai. Uttarakhand was denied membership as more than one association had applied for affiliation.

The applicant is seeking information on what the BCCI had done so far to solve the affiliation issue to Uttarakhand and how much time the Board would take to arrive at a conclusion.
The BCCI has authorised its 23 member Working Committee to take a final decision on the issue of affiliation to Uttarakhand. This was decided, last year, at BCCI’s AGM. The applicant has asked the BCCI to mention the number of meetings the Working Committee had held on the Uttarakhand issue after September 2008.
