      Gopinath Temple- Gopeshwar An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located at Gopeshwar, in Uttarakhand. The temple stands out in its architectural proficiency; it is topped by a magnificent dome and the 30 sq ft sanctum sanctorum, which is accessible by 24 doors. The site is located 10 km north-east of Chamoli.

      Kaṇḍār Temple This photograph of the Temple of Kaṇḍār (कण्डार) in the Barahat (बाड़ाहाट) area of Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand was taken in June 2011. Kandar is the tutelary god of Uttarkashi.  Until the 20th century the town of Uttarkashi (Hindi for 'north Kashi') was known as Barahat (बाड़ाहाट, Hindi for 'market of Bara [village]').  The oldest part of Uttarkashi is still known as बाड़ाहाट.
