Garhwali movie 'Chhamm Ghungroo' released

DEHRADUN, 12 May:  The release of a Garhwali digital movie, 'Chhamm Ghungroo', was held at a local hotel, here, today. The film has been produced by Ramesh Ajmani of Rama Cassettes, with caste issues and environment as its focus.
The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr Prakash Thapliyal, Deputy Director, PIB, by lighting the ceremonial lamp. He released the CD of the film along with Special Guest and famous folk singer Narendra Singh Negi, Bhagat Singh Rawat, Information Officer, and Geeta Thakur, Vice Chairperson of the State Women Commission.
The film has been directed by Sushila Rawat, a first for a woman director in Uttarakhand. The film focuses on the lifestyle and traditions of the 'Baddhi' people living in the mountains. It also discloses the facts about the ongoing felling of trees and illegal trade in timber by the local Mafia in the mountains. Why there is a problem in the economic uplift of the mountain villages has been shown in the film.
Ramesh Ajmani said on the occasion that they had decided to make at least one film every one and a half years to promote the film industry in the state and also to make people aware of the traditions and culture of Uttarakhand. There were many associations that had been formed in this field, but they needed to be consolidated so that government help could be taken in promoting the film industry here.
Geeta Thakur said that funds were a big problem in the film industry here, and her own film - in which she has acted and done the production - was not made tax free and she regretted it. She suggested that an association be formed so that such problems could be tackled.
The songs in the film have been sung by Narendra Singh Negi, Gajendra Rana, Meena Rana and Rajendra Chauhan. The lead roles have been played by Rakesh Gaur and Nikita Butola.

इस कैसेट में  कुल 8 गाने हैं, कुछ गाने पहाड़ की महिमा का बखान करते हैं और कुरीतियों से बचने का सन्देश देते हैं. कैसेट में युवा श्रोताओं की रुचि के अनुसार भी कुछ गाने रखे गये हैं लेकिन इन गानों में भी पूरी तरह गढवाली भाषा की शुद्धता का ध्यान रखा गया है. मुझे सभी गाने बहुत अच्छे लगे.... आप लोग इस कैसेट को मार्केट से खरीद कर जरूर सुनियेगा...
